Im just going to assume phoenix is the top job all things considered. So we should get whoever they dont want. Hopefully they make a bad choice.

Why is Phoenix the top job? Other than weather condition, coaching 28-29yr old Giannis should be the preferable destination to any coach that truly wants to win. Booker is easily 1 of the most overrated players in recent memory and KD is a flake and a huge ego. No depth and Ayton is disgruntled.. no one should be breaking down doors to want that job over Milwaukee..
RIP Kobe Forever. GOAT 8-24. Long Live Giannis

I'm biased but if I had my choice of jobs, Milwaukee would be at the top. It would be hard for me to pass up on coaching the most coachable superstar. KD is always one bad tweet away from having a temper tantrum and who knows what happens in Philly if Harden dips. Embiid/Maxey is a nice foundation but I'm still riding with Giannis and seeing what changes we can make to the rotation outside the main cast of characters.

Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Don't discount the Pistons. Coaching a young up-and-coming team could benefit any of these coaches if they are good enough. I still think Cade is going to be a star and they have some great pieces in Ivey, Duran, and the #5 pick in this year's draft.

If you are coaching any of the top three teams you know it's literally championship or bust. Some coaches might see how we fired Bud and not choose Milwaukee as well.

Ishbia seems like he’d be into Tyrone Lue as a high profile hire.

Isn't the Clippers ->Suns basically a lateral move if not maybe even a downgrade? The argument for the Bucks being a better job than the Clippers or Suns is that you have a championship roster and what held them back are strategic errors. You can agree or disagree with that, but that's the basic argument. With the Clippers and Suns its a lot of holding your breath and hoping that guys stay healthy and at least with the Clippers you think you have the roster but with the Suns you're probably counting on flipping Ayton for 2-3 rotation players.

It’s pros and cons to either open job. I think the bucks have as good a chance as any to land nurse but I don’t think it’s the easy choice. We have Giannis for two years and then a whole bunch of question marks and very high expectations. If I was nurse and could pick any job, the bucks wouldn’t be at the top.

What did he say?

He was interviewed at the combine and talked for a minute and a half about him and the Bucks. There's a clip on ESPN's home page. But the story he refers to is also two days old, so now that Nurse is in the picture it probably means Sampson is out of it.

I think the actual team/players is just one aspect of the decision for these coaches. You have money/contract length, control of staff, how much say you get in player acquisition, ownership, vibe with your GM, ect. Then you got the location and in that I'm sure you have your family chiming in.

But yeah purely basketball wise the next year or two the Bucks are the best job IMO.

The Bucks HC position also comes with the most pressure to win, though. I wonder how that factors in to the next HC's decision.

Right. Only one of these franchises just fired a coach that won a championship for them in the last 5 years. I don't know how much that factors into these decisions given how short lived almost all coaching jobs seem to last these days, but it's probably worth consideration.

You guys really think so? I think there's much less pressure in Milwaukee by magnitudes. Smallest market, no media hounding them, team already has a recent championship. Philly has the most pressure, by far, for the exact opposite reasons. Phoenix is trying to win a ring with the last years of Chris Paul, an older KD, and a new owner.

Hopefully our multiple billionaires pony up more money than Phoenix's new billionaire or whoever the hell owns the Sixers, if Nurse is our guy then there is no excuse to let him go to another contending team at least over money.

There's pressure in Phoenix with 38 year old injury prone CP and 35 year old injury prone KD. No titles. Tick tock.

Sixers will be entering their 9th season with Embiid (older than Giannis). No titles. No Finals appearances. Never even made it to the conference Finals. Tick tock.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Giannis' next deal is going to be a huge media event, even more so if we get off to a slow start this coming season. Pressure is going to be on to keep winning and to keep Giannis happy. You can also argue that MIL has a lot less drama going on up and down the roster than PHI or PHX has. Harden looks like he's walking and PHX has to do something with Ayton. I think the roster stability adds to the pressure to win since we just won with this exact team 3 seasons ago.

Yeah the way NBA teams cycle through coaches they should assume all jobs are very temporary. Get that 5 yr guarantee with the cash and just hope for the best.

I don't think pressure to win is going to be a factor because I think all three jobs are going to have heavy pressure to win immediately. If there's a coach that's factoring in the pressure to win immediately, I don't think that guy is considering any of the three.
