Do you still believe?

Post#1 » by Celtic_Pride777 » Sat May 20, 2023 3:11 am

Tonight, the Cs dropped another home game. We're down 0-2. The success rate for an NBA team to come back and win a series after dropping the first two games is staggeringly bad. Only 33 teams in 447 seven-game playoff series have ever come back to win. Yeah, that’s just above a cool seven percent.

To advance to the Finals, we have to win 4 out of the next 5 games (3 away from home) This might be the end of our season.

I don't dismiss, but, I did not like the on-court chemistry of this team the latter stages of the regular season. Belief started getting shaky then.

This year? No. This team doesn't have the mental toughness to come back from this deficit. The only question I have is if they're really going to waste the Brown\Tatum window on Mazulla... If they bring him back, I don't believe we'll win a championship and we're likely looking at a rebuild. Hopefully we can get some good assets from the Brown and\or Tatum sign and trade.

Odds aren't good but it's still very possible. Although, Mazzulla coaching this team is gonna make it a steep slope

Yes.

Miami just won 2 on the road. We can do the same and even the series up.

These were both close games. A call here or a play there goes the other way and we're up 2-0.

It's not looking good. But I still believe.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

This is over. 92% of teams go on to win the series after they win the first two games. I'm going to assume that percentage is even higher when that team wins both of those games on the road. Spo and Butler are not losing a 2-0 series against second row Joe and the soft three-point shooting team.

Boston's House of cards fell after they lost their second home game. Miami is better at home than Boston is on the road.

Anyone who truly believes that Boston is going to win is in denial or hasn't been watching this team all year.

I didn't believe at the beginning of the series tbh, given how we played the first two rounds - including games 6 and 7 against the Sixers.

I also don't think our fan base gives the Heat the respect they deserve, and it wouldn't surprise me if our team bought into the notion that they were the 8th seed and would be an easy out. Frankly, this is a better Heat team than the past two seasons, and their regular season record has no bearing on what they are capable of. Jimmy is as healthy as ever, Bam is a more mature player, Love was a great fit for their rotation, then you've got guys like Vincent and Strus who have continued to improve and overall their current core has had time to gel. Their roster is not deep but it is well balanced, and they make the most of it by playing the right way.

But you can't really judge a team until their back is up against the wall. If the Heat can win two games straight in a hostile atmosphere, no reason we cannot. It's just a matter of preparation and execution, we'll see what happens.

I believed in 76ers series after it was 3-2 to them. Heat are mentally tough team and they have 2 games at their place. I can see us getting it max to 6 games but not winning a series.

**** no. Didn't believe after game 1. And sure as hell don't believe now. I won't believe if they swept their way to a ring. This team is flawed fatally. No vocal leaderhip.

And btw I called this game realime live gametime. Check the thread. When Rob went out the **** changed. This coach has to go for someone stronger. To get this team focused. There's no real vocal leaders. Someone that will get in their faces nose to nose and ask "Do you **** WANT IT????". We don't have that anywhere.

Right now, are you kidding me?! If we win 4 of the next 5, then definitely yes, faith never wavered.

Well, you can't criticize the team for not being mentally strong and then give up as a fan before the games are played. In fact, if the players thought like most of the posters on this thread, this series would be over. But they don't, and it's not.

Things do look pretty grim but you have to believe.
