If one of your main guys can’t hit a pull up three or middy, you’re not going anywhere.

Yup that is something I totally agree with even if said player isn't technically a better player by numbers or advanced metrics we need to add a shot creation specialist to this team. Middleton isn't even someone i would consider to be elite at it despite having his moments. Need to add a Simons or Clarkson even if they are turnstiles on D. Hell if you can get them cheap enough someone likes White or Cole Anthony would decent risks to take.

Luckily the Bucks front office knows very well how valuable Khris is come playoff time, and I expect we’ll make him a very good offer. Hopefully Khris will agree to structure the deal so that we can stay competitive given the new luxury tax situation.

He’s 31, which is in line for one more big contract. In today’s league, and with our medical staff, I could easily see him playing another two years at a great level, possibly even three. He’ll still be tradable in the third and fourth year of his deal too.

Unless you're Horst or the owners who sign the checks it's moot. 8-)
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

This idea that we can't replace him is crazy, we could have swapped in a league average sg/sf and won that year.

Because it's entirely credible to compare Playoff averages to those of the regular season...

Midds put up 23.6/7.6/5.1 on a 55TS% for that Playoff run in 2021.

Did you know by your above metrics that Devin Booker, in the 2021 Playoffs, put up a .494efg%, .447 fg%, and .321 3p%? I guess by your logic, Phoenix could've replace him with a league average SG and still done fine that post season run?

It's almost like the Playoffs are a lot harder due to better defences and the fatigue players deal with due to the tight scheduling and game intensity.

Midds still had some usual bad moments in the 21 run but he finally made up for it by carrying us in tough spots. He was literally doing what many of us wanted out of him.

Just thinking back. Late in the 4th quarter he hit a step back three over Bridges in game 5 on the road in the finals. He was different and had some special moments during that run. That one for me is right up there.

I get wanting to trade Khris for a handful of reasons, I just don’t get the whole addition by subtraction vibe I get from most of the trades involving him by bucks fans on every platform.

By all means, we can have some crazy run like Miami, or 2011 mavericks with the perfect pieces around a great player, but that’s just not realistic with our timeline right now. We go into next season with a bunch of specialist role players around Giannis and fall in the first or second round again, it’s trade request/rebuild time. Unless we’re getting some all star level shot making back, I just don’t see the bucks getting rid of Khris.

Why do we still look at Mids 2 years ago? Thats in the past. He can't defend anymore. He was ok in the playoffs but he had plenty of wtf moments. Same with Jrue.

People talking about trading him for Jalen Green and Jordan Poole surely aren't looking at defense, right?

Would rather trade Jrue than Khris and I never expected to say that.

Bucks went on a tear exactly when Khris came back midseason with a minutes restriction off the bench.

He was one of the very few players who could score for us vs the Heat and throughout his tenure in the playoffs.

I very much agree that we want to get more athletic and younger. But unless we are making a great follow up move/s (if only taking advantage of financial flexibility) I just don’t see how it’s an addition by subtraction situation.

He was a significant net positive for the series vs the Heat. I think only him, Giannis and Jrue were in the positives (Giannis and Jrue only just so, but we were something like a +60 for the series with Midds on the floor).

We're getting too caught up on some blown defensive assignments by Midds (I know I was guilty of this) and neglecting to see that the numbers show he's still an awesome player.
