It's a lot of money, but that's just bad business for setting yourself up to be competitive in the future. Low-balling a guy who can point to All-NBA to say he deserves it, have his value tank after being on an expiring, and not being able to get back high end salary with his slot all seem like things Brad would say we can't afford to do regardless of what we think about the amount Jaylen would be paid.

Brown is a good player and second all NBA team but I can 100% see why Boston doesn't want to offer him a supermax.

I'm wondering what Boston can get from him because they can't let him walk away for nothing because that could be a disaster.

I feel it's the opposite. If you don't feel Jaylen Brown as a #2 can get you a championship, then give your team flexibility to find new pieces. At the very least, you can avoid having to pay the luxury tax (plus other penalties under the new CBA.)

I just think having 600 million tied up with Tatum and Brown isn't the best idea but Boston doesn't want to lose Brown for nothing.

We’d be stuck with him. I’d rather trade him and improve the team chemistry because something has been off for a while with the Jays where they don’t play well off each other. It’s more taking turns isoing than anything else.

Problem is there nobody decent to trade for him for that wouldn’t be a lateral move. We’d have to get a bunch of 3 & D complimentary pieces to fit around Tatum and hope he can improve his handle to the point where he can facilitate like LeBron & Luka basically at all times

Sign Pat Bev. He’ll bring some much needed attitude and toughness to this team and unlike Tatum, he’s not afraid to take a shot in the 4th quarter.

We already have that type of player in Smart lol. Two marcus smart in the lineup will spell disaster haha.

Smart cannot be back on this next year. But aside from that, Pat Bev is a better trash talker, has a better shot and his attitude is way more imposing. Smart is tough in the sense that he takes a lot of physical abuse but he doesn’t really do anything to get in other teams head or impose his will the way a Pat Bev would. Just imagine the Jays doing the “too small” taunt all game or Pat Bev running his mouth during the Pressers instead of relying on Grant “Imma make boof” to be that guy :lol:. That is the attitude change this team needs, not Smart flopping on the floor and blaming all his bricks and turnovers on his team for the 10,000th time

I hear that Dillon Brooks can be had at quite a discount!
