Happy to not see a lot of game 7 bull. Got to take care of business game 6 first. Celts can come out flat and uninspired. Nobody knows with this squad. Take it one game at a time. Perhaps even one quarter at a time at this point.

Celtics can lose this game and I double dog dare anybody to say anything contrary to that. Nevermind I KNOW nobody could. Because we never know with this squad. One game at a time..... Win this one and then lets talk.

My current stance, I think the heat win game 6. However, if the C's win I think the heat don't stand a chance in hell in game 7...... Which probably means we win game 6 and then lose game 7.

The Heat have no capability of stopping our offense; especially:

1. the Tatum and Grant 2-man game, where either one can penetrate, dish, or shoot 3's for a high percentage

or

2. the Tatum and Rob 2-man pick and roll game, which was devastating in Game 4.

All of this requires ball movement, cutting, and spacing to work.

With either option, Jaylen is available to get in the paint for a high percentage mid-range shot, which is all he needs to do; just take over the game with that, like Michael Jordan, as long as he is passed the ball, and he keeps the ball high to prevent swiping hands, and he doesn't dribble, he's golden from there. He can be our 'Jaylen Buckets' [like Jimmy, but ... better], he just needs someone to get him the ball.

Then, all of Tatum, Brown, Grant, White, or Horford, or Hauser, or Pritchard, need to be tested from 3 to see who is hot, and we just go with the hot hand(s), like the Warriors used to do with Curry and Klay. Someone is going to be hot, and they will be able to shoot with volume, because the Heat have so many guys cheating to cover Tatum and Brown, that ball movement will reveal the open shooter. Marcus and the guards, have to get that hot hand the ball. HAVE to.

And, our best defense can easily keep their best offense under 100 points, the boys just have to bring it.

Being down 3-0 doesn’t matter anymore. They are down 3-2 and it’s win or the season is over. It’s one game and they have to win. It’s a great place to be right now even if it’s less than the ideal we expected. The historical nature of being down 3-0 doesn’t matter at all. It’s just 1 game on the road against a really tough opponent.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Does Robinson ever play as if he's not confident?

The core skill of his game is shooting the ball without time to think about it.

That said, the versatility of his offense last game was a scary eye-opener. He was 5-7 on 2pt shots and 9/1 on A/TO, while only going 2/3 from 3.

When he’s confident he can put the ball on the deck make the correct rim read. Without Herro, he is the drive and kick guy that will can cause havoc on our defence.
Also. we were still stalling a bit against their zone.
We have to be prepared to have plan B when our 3s aren’t falling.
I want us to spend most of our energy hustling on defence so we can get some easy baskets the other end.

I don’t know how a guy who plays only 40 games all year and is out of rotation just kills us in the ECF.
I never understood why he was rotting on bench all year when they weren’t playing well and were supposedly trying to trade him.
He is a much better player now than he was in bubble when he was a huge part of their rotation.
I guess with Strus, Martin and Herro ahead of him there weren’t enough minutes.

I'm so sick of hearing about Jimmy Butler. I hope Tatum thoroughly outplays him these last two games.

Gonna need Horford, Rob, Grant, and Brogdon to do more offensively along with the Jays obviously playing at a high level. Tatum needs to start the game exactly like he did last game. The whole team for that matter, any effort less than what we saw last game would be disappointing. If we match the Heat’s effort or better, we win.

Exactly this. Can't expect DWhite and Smart to shoot the same percentages in game 6, but fully expect everyone on the team to play the same way tomorrow, and if the Heat levels up their intensity, I fully expect the team to match that intensity.

To be fair, and I said this before game 1, Gabe Vincent usually plays insanely well against the Celtics, and is mediocre to bad against any other team. Vincent was the Heat's best player in game 3, and the Heat didn't need palyoff Jimmy to do his thing mainly because of Vincent and to a lesser extent Martin.

He has a good stroke, and he getting wide open shots. He is over achieving. He’s more like a a grant will type, he can go off and help a team win, but a role player having a career night when we supposedly have all defense players says it all about our trash D the first 3 games. and analyst talking like he’s some savior is just laughable.

This play right here is our offense. Smart and white waiting for a pass to chuck a 3. Why can’t smart just cut to the basket instead. Lowry is the only defender, as Bam is way out. Don’t tell me smart can’t score on lowry? We are bailing out the heat. It’s good if we make shots, but it’s better to go for a higher percentage shot inside. That’s why we get on slumps if our shots ain’t falling. and we continue to chuck 3’s to get back a deficit, instead of grinding it out with easy baskets.

Image

Here white got the ball, good thing he didn’t throw it back out to smart, instead he threw a lob to rob for easy dunk. If Rob weren’t there, he could still easily shoot the jumpshot right there. A lot of times guys like Horford gets the ball within 5ft of the basket, and without thinking just kick it out for a teammate waiting beyond the arc. When he could just easily throw a floater or a semi hook to the basket. Or even bully his way inside against smaller defenders. And mind you, almost all the heat players are smaller than Al. Bam is their lone shot blocker.
Again, if our shot is falling, everything is fine, but i want our guys to look for the easier, higher percentage shots inside, instead of bailing the heat with our constant chucking of 3’s.

Yeah well welcome to the age of stupid basketball. The short attention span video game version of basketball. I rant and rail against fans but you can bet some of the players you highlight, coaches too, grew up playing video basketball.

Just keep winning, fellas. It’s now 3-2, not 3-0. Don’t focus on the record and take it game by game.

In pic 1 White isn't cutting to the basket because that's where the Heat defenders are, bunched up. Your own arrow leads directly to two Heat defenders.
Same for Smart. He's going to take the open corner three, which is like a 40% chance to score 3, over challenging Lowry, Strus and Love for a spectacular 1 on 3 layup.
