Joe gets a bit of credit here. JB hit some key shots and FTs in the 4th. We needed every point. But got to be careful with his fouls in G7.

Speaking of credit - isn’t getting better as a series goes on, making adjustments, and comebacks (or collapses), usually considered indications of coaching ability???

We're obviously not giving the coach or smart credit for this play.
In fact, only White and Tatum crashed the board while Brown sat like a spectator.
Obviously Miami is taking away Tatum and Brown in this spot, sorry not sorry but the play we ended up with was a disaster. Just like the entire last 4 minutes.
I just thank god that White is the high IQ basketball player Smart thinks he is.
Smart was the only guy on the court (DWhite inbounded) who hit a 3 all game. The other 3 starters were ‘0-for’ from 3 for the game. It was too tough a shot to be sure - but Smart made a great shot and it almost went down.
Wait what? You are claiming a Marcus Smart 3 point shot when you are down 1 is a good shot? Umm yeah. I respectfully disagree.

Yes, you made it up. Watch the video again. Brown and Tatum and White all move to rebound. Bam chooses to box Brown instead of Tatum - at the foul line - and stops his progress. Tatum and White were unhindered and made it to rim.
Ya no. Brown was a total non factor.
7 points in 4th qtr, highest +/- on team, 26/10 in biggest game of season so far……but yeah……non-factor…..right.
White saved your season, despite Smart shooting the ball instead of passing the ball back to White in the first place.
It's objectively and unequivocally true.
Let it go.

He's quadrupled down on it in fact.
It was pathetic and it would of been his last shot as a Celtic and a microcosm of his career here had White not saved the day.

Brown,Tatum,Smart etc were all to blame for having to have White luckily bail them out with .2 seconds left as none of them were willing to drive the ball with the team in the bonus.

Joe could’ve drawn up a better play with more options besides Smart getting the ball running away from the basket but at that moment as he caught the ball, it was the only real play he could make. Shooting it early got the Cs a chance at an offensive rebound. In that context, it was a great shot. What was he supposed to do? Pump fake and fish for a foul? Flop and pretend he got hit? That wasn’t on him. Not even on White who gave him the ball. Joe needs to come up with better end-of-game plays. Pick Brad’s brain or something.

He he plenty of time to pass it back to White for a uncontested 3 or perhaps better, he would of stepped into his shot for a 18 foot baseline jumper wide open.
We've seen this olay from Smart a dozen too many times for it to be anything other than the ball hits Smarts hands, it is unlikely to leave his hands.
If White doesn't make that miracle rebound, I doubt anyone is defending Smarts shot or decision there.

How do you step into an 18-footer when your momentum is taking you away from the basket? Gabe was right behind him. Only other play that made sense was an immediate passback to White. Not sure if Bam could’ve recovered to challenge.
Blaming him for taking a shot (he made) as quickly as he can in the Sixers game is absurd. Blame him instead for walking up the ball lol. He and JT are repeat offenders when it comes to that.

So you want Snart taking a 3 with your season on the line? A well contested 3?
I think you're all lying to be honest. Blind by the fact that it worked out.
Smart did this not one but TWICE during a loss to the Sixers. Didn't work then and didn't now. It's not the play to take.
Smart hit the 3 against Sixers. The problem was that the clock ran out moving the ball around. Last night there were only 3 seconds left and the team couldn’t get a decent shot in the final 4 minutes. The only other option was for Smart to make a tough pass under duress with the Heat swarming all over him to White in corner.
I agree the team should have run a better play - one area where I really miss Brad as coach - but Smart made a great shot and deserves praise for his decisiveness.
I understand that there are Smart apologist everywhere and yesterday was not the game to be bitching about Smart. Nor was the last one.
However I stand by my comment. Smart chucking a 3 down by 1 is a losing play. Celtics gotta be better.
It falls on the coaching staff to create a better shot
He was the only one open enough to get the ball from White. JT rushing toward White wasn't helping
He got the shot up and it almost got in
White made a great play at the rim. Great read to go to the corner (open 3 in Smart would pass) and then to get the putback
A lot of luck. A lot of cojones

I’m certain if Smart tried the difficult to make pass you wanted and turned it over instead, you would be the first to blame him for that decision.

Also I want to address the last comment.
He missed the shot and it went into overtime. Smart taking a 3 at the end of that game was atrocious. They. DOUBLED DOWN AND DID UT AGAIN IN OT.
What don't people get. If you didn't get the shot off, you didn't make it. As if anyone actually cares that he got it in the hole.
Smart taking game ending shots is a play that every defensive team will take. It plays right into their hands.
I'm not gonna waste my energy all day on this. There's no converting the indoctrinated.
Thank god for White. He's amazing.

It's ok. The Celtics won. White saved us.

Marcus Smart’s layup was the only Celtic field goal in final 5:25 before White’s game saver. Clutch players don’t always make clutch shots….but they take them. I stand with Marcus Smart - that was a great shot attempt out of a broken and poorly designed play.

Coaches rarely leave the inbound passer open after the pass is made.
Spo gambled by making Strus double JT so that JT will not get the pass.
It's a case of Spo gambled and lost.
I think the Cs were surprised that the Heat already started doubling JT before the pass was even made.
It was a brilliant tactic that just didn't pan out for the Heat.

A lot of folks were saying Joe made a stupid call by challenging the Big Al foul on Jimmy, allowing the refs to review and make it a 3 shot foul instead of just 2 shots. Reality is that the refs would have reviewed that regardless of the challenge. What it did allow was for the refs to look at the time and added .9 seconds on the clock. Those .9 seconds added back turned out to be HUGE.

Great point. I actually thought it was a bogus foul call in real time because Jimmy was behind 3 point line and Horford was a foot in front of the line and in good defensive position. Jimmy lunged into Horford but on replay it looks like Al did hack his arms. Was a really great play by Butler to draw that foul.

Congrats on the w guys, heartbroken in the worst way. Was with the fam watching the game and we thought we had it wrapped and were about to celebrate when white grabbed the board and made the putback…silence….I was ready to jump in the pool….We know you have the better more talented team, we just hope to win based on grit and determination, sometimes the ball doesn’t bounce your way
