What do you all think about Cedi and Okoro plus some 2nd rounders for Bojan Bogdanovic?

He can flat out shoot the rock, not a great defender plus kinda old but he could probably start at SF no problem. Decent contract too.

Not sure the Pistons would do it but if they did, frees the Cavs up to use the MLE and BAE to fill other holes on the roster.

I'd want to see how Bojan looks after his Achille's injury before even offering expiring contracts. Weaver's an idiot who severely overplayed his hand and may end up with a hobbled $20M de facto coach on his bench for the next two seasons. Bojan was a 33-year old traffic cone on defense before the injury. He's 34-years old now and may not even see real minutes again. If it goes badly, we can give him a Danny Green look after he's bought out.

Hmm, is this a real concern? Or just the clinical name for a flare up of tendinitis and an excuse the Pistons used to improve their lottery odds?

It's not like he's torn his Achilles and gone through surgery to have it repaired, and he has an off-season to rest it.

I wouldn't give up Okoro and seconds to find out. If Bojan is in a rotation, you're going to want Okoro out there with him.

I didn't even know he was injured but I'm with you, given the timing of said "injury".

I'm not in favor of decreasing the number of playable playoff guys on the roster.

Cavs would still be armed with the full MLE, BAE, TPE, pick #49, and the potential to re-sign or S&T LeVert.

It wouldn't be a move in a vaccum.

The BAE, TPE, and #49 aren't getting us a guy who we can count on playing in the playoffs next year, and LeVert is one of our 7 guys who really deserved to play this year.

Unless Rubio, Wade, Stevens, and I.Mobley are guys we can have confidence in, I'm not in favor of reducing our playable playoff depth in a trade.

There's literally no way for you to know that.

The Cavs are going to have to surrender something in a trade, if they go that route.

LeVert is an UFA, he can walk for nothing this summer.

That depends whether you're willing to pay Isaac and how highly you rate their playoff viability in the first place.

And I don't know how long JBB will last, but maybe we should hold off on trying to add a movement shooter to the team until we have a coach who knows how to run plays for one.

How do you guys feel about the basis of this trade?

Jaylen Brown and Robert Williams 3 and danillo Gallinari

For

Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen

Hard pass.

Brown is expiring, Gallo is either a FA or expiring, RW3 presents similar challenges that Allen has by being paired with Mobley but more injury prone.

Then the Celtics in return are getting 2 guys on long term deals.

If Brown would extend, a deal of Brown for Mitchell is appealing to me, especially if someone like Sam Hauser is thrown in.

Garland/Brown/Hauser/Mobley/Allen

Solid starting 5 until Mobley develops a jumper or if he never does, slide him to 5 and move Allen for another 3&D guy.

Garland isn't available, but that aside, this is awful for the Cavs. Brown is a real flight risk. These extend and trade ideas are fantasies. He's not extending. Robert Williams is a poor man's version of Allen who's often injured. I have Gallo as negative value.

I like this trade for the Utah Jazz?

Without some back-room guarantees, it's really hard to justify a trade for a player who will become a UFA in a year.

If I'm the Cavs, I do this but I don't see anyway that the Nets consider it. I would try to swap in Cedi for Rubio, maybe add one or two more second rounders.Image

I'd do it.

I guess the argument for the Nets to accept it is that they own none of their FRP for a few years and have no reason to tank so gathering other picks and a young player in Okoro to develop would be a good direction for the team.

We would need to look for a back-up PG in FA if we did this, but we wouldn't really need to look for more wings.

That's why I like it, because I could see either of Garland/Royce/DFS or Mitchell/Royce/DFS lineups being possible if Garland or Mitchell are hurt/in foul trouble/struggling.

I could also see Garland/Mitchell/Royce/DFS lineups with any big... Be it Allen, Mobley, or a guy who isn't currently on the roster. Just based on who is healthy, not in foul trouble, or the best matchup.

I've been saying it for awhile but I truly believe the Cavs are two 3&D wings away from being a very dangerous team in the East.

Me neither, unfortunately. I wonder if there are any decent packages out there to be had.

It's been mentioned in other threads, but it was clear that we sorely lacked a third big in the NYK series. I keep circling back to John Collins, can his shooting bounce back, and could he be a young, buy low piece? I am still on board with starting Mobley and Allen, but having someone off the bench who can stretch the floor and grab some rebounds seems critical. Who else is out there who fits that mold?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I know a lot of peeps on this forum do not like John Collins, but I do think he'd be a perfect big man as a back-up (similar to Bobby Portis). My one worry about him is that he is searching for a larger role that he had in Atlanta, and we cannot provide that (and his current role is really good for teams imo).

Easy for me to say, but I think he needs to show that he deserves a larger role, which I assume is leading to another payday. He has 2 years left on his current deal, and I can see him getting similar time\touches in Cleveland. If he bounces back, he'll get his bigger role and payday, it just may not be here. Would be an interesting problem for us, do we move Allen on the last year of his deal in favor of resigning Collins and moving him into a starting role? It's not too much of a stretch to think Mobley might be able to effectively slide into the starting C spot in a couple of years.
Well at least we're not Detroit!
