Unsure in the Indy/TOR parts. Feels like TOR could add a little to IND.
Maybe Hauser and / or Pritchard to IND for salary balance as well.

I like it but it does force Brown to be a PF, not sure that is the right move.

But a small tweak lets Siakam come back instead, which makes more sense for Toronto, imo.

Portland:Brown for Simons, 3 and #23
Indy: #3, Timelord, Kornet for Turner and #7
Toronto: #7, BRogdon for Siakam
Boston: Simons, Siakam, Turner

These kinds of trades rarely happen though because it would be too risky for each GM. If Morant turns things around after a trade the GM is fired and never works again. If Morant gets traded and continues to have incidents, Brown is lost fir nothing and the team is set back 5-10 years.

Memphis is trading their star on a long term deal for a guy on an expiring who isn't going to re-sign before FA? No way.

If I was Brad this summer I’d focus on three main areas.
1. What to do with Brown
2. What to do about the Center position
3. What to do with coaching

Each have several possibilities but they are the three biggest areas I’d focus on first.

I’d like to:
1. Trade JB only if good fit value is returned for a player not too old
2. A good anchor/defender and passer
3. Replace Joe or at least get a vet assistant who’s had the top job before

Trade JB for player-coach Udonis Haslem, the heart and soul of Heat Culture. Convince him to not retire yet. Three birds with one stone. If you can get Caleb Martin along with him, that’s just gravy.

Brad, please fire Joe. He cost you a title this year and has already said he won’t change.

This is what people don’t understand. Jaylen won’t bring back equal value because he won’t re sign with most teams. Maybe if he really wants Atlanta you can try and get a Murray/Capella/Okongwu/Collins/Bog 2 for 1 package and that’s probably as good as it’s going to get.

Really curious to see a list of teams he would extend with.

Depending on his incoming suspension I'm actually intrigued by a Jaylen for Ja trade. Then move one of our guards for another swingman or 3+D player. Personally I'd move Brogdan.

Ja
Smart
White
Tatum
Rob

Maybe too small but upside is huge. Ja solves a lot of our scoring issues. Hopefully a change of scenery would help him keep his head on straight.

Perhaps there’s a middle ground between 295M and his current max..

2023 All NBA Second Team
2X All Star
26 years old

There’s a very limited group of players that could be or are available that would warrant trading Jaylen Brown.

He had a stinker today and had his fair share throughout the playoffs, as did the entire squad. But I would rather add pieces to Brown and Tatum than take him away.

Coaching and scoring in the lane / post are what we need to add aka not jacking threes all day.

This a dozen times. I’ve watched almost all of the games in Jaylen’s career and very little has changed for him.

He constantly does one of the following:

-gets the ball poked away from behind
-brings the ball too low and gets stripped
-throws his elbows like a muy thai fighter
-dribbles into well established defenders for more offensive fouls.
-is getting absolutely bamboozled on defense.

He can’t pass, he pouts a lot, can’t dribble, is usually happy to take an ill advised heat check. Frequently tries to make sure he gets his.

We will be on a treadmill if we sign Jaylen to anywhere near that super max. Just a really bad idea with that new CBA looming.

So who would you trade him for?

100% agree. I do think they explore but the return will just not be there. I would also add a legit PG that can get into the D a bit and open up some easy shots for JT & JB. Another factor is that JT seems like he wants to play with JB.

Yeah but one player who's available is a perfect fit, aka Siakam. He's a perfect fit basketball wise (gives us length, interior defense, and interior scoring) and perfect fit contract wise (also in a contract year next season).

DeRozen and Caruso for JB. Yay or nay? Bulls seem like a squad JB would consider long term.

My concern just going forward with this lineup with smaller changes around the edges is that we're watching Pierce/Walker V2. Those guys came within a couple wins of the finals and very well could have snuck into the finals in 2002. Could've easily had Ainge come in and decide to keep them together and just try to add other pieces.

This feels like that team a little bit.

Except he's an even worse player than Brown and older.

Trading JB for Siakam, while it does make some sense on the court, would be settling for less via trade. They can do much better if they wait a year to trade JB. Siakam has his warts as well and is considered overrated by some of his peers.
