You and the idiot underneath you are two moronic mfers lol, idiot says this is a legitimate question….. yeah trading the MVP while he’s 26 years old because of some antics? What antics clown? Embid has become waaaaay chilled out he ain’t troel nomore that’s the only ANTICS you can mention but that ain’t even antics clown. Only a damn fool would even think about trading a embid!
The fact doc rivers never found 5 guys on the bench who could play together and be effective together is why we underachieving jack ass embid is a superstar foreal!!!! You’ll never get back equal value and you’ll watch him go on to win championship s! Multiple championships!!!!
Embiid is 29, maybe you need to check facts before insulting me.

Re: Sixers hire Nick Nurse
Every coach has their flaws. There is no perfect coach. If Nurse's biggest flaw is "he plays his best players a lot" I think Sixers fans should be pretty happy. Better that than a flaw "He gets out-coached in big games" or "He can't adjust and his teams always choke"

Re: Sixers hire Nick Nurse
Nurse load managed Kawhi & played him 34 mpg during that championship season. I’m sure it’ll similar with Embiid.
He had a shallow team with young legs the last couple years in Toronto so he played them big minutes. He was also clearly coaching for his job so he didn’t give a f*ck about minutes lol

Re: Sixers hire Nick Nurse
The big question with any coach who has only had one NBA job is whether they are a coach that sticks to one system and style everywhere they go (see Rivers, Doc) or adapt to situations and personnel that present themselves in each new opportunity. There are definitely some things I would love Nurse to bring to the Sixers from his Raps days, while overplaying starters is not one of these.
This is a very different team than the one in Toronto, and while I expect Maxey to continue to play loads of minutes, I hope Embiid and Harden (if he stays) would not be in that boat. On the positive side, Nurse is likely to be a fan of BBall Paul and might be willing to play him more. We might see less PJ at center, even if he sometimes guards perimeter or finesse type centers, and hopefully see more athleticism being emphasized.
I like Nurse as a coach able to bring more out of a team that losses Harden than any of the others on the market. I thought Bud was the best choice for Embiid to be maximized, but Nurse I like overall...other than the overplaying guys issue. That is partly on Morey and favors moving Tobias for a number of smaller salaried pieces for depth and emphasizing Maxey as the second star even if Harden stays.

Re: Sixers hire Nick Nurse
People have been assuming since Nurse is staying that means he was assured Harden would be back. Really not sure about that. For one, Harden's hampering ball movement and his unwillingness to play defense will probably drive Nurse nuts. But also, Nurse is a coach who's known to make it work with less. Nurse might be the perfect coach to have for a "step back season" letting Harden go. And he'll prove he can still get them to 50+ wins without Harden and clean the slate from a leadership and mentality perspective with Harden gone.

Ideally Nurse being a guy who frustrated Biid means he knows what areas Biid needs to work on to make said tricks harder

Re: Sixers hire Nick Nurse
All of this will be for naught if Harden is brought back.
Thankful for what James gave us for 15 months, but he will hinder our ceiling a year from now. We split from Doc. Now Harden and Harris.

So should we start the “Fire Nick Nurse” thread now or wait until he loses his first game?

To me, this is the ideal scenario. Make the playoffs next season while seeing Maxey in a bigger role, establish the Nurse culture and schemes, and set the franchise up for 2024 and beyond.

Incredible. There are actually people in decision making positions who believe he can win in 2023. Just incredible.

Agree completely, yet there are people on this forum who seriously want to add Bradley Beal to Embiid and Harden, and use Maxey to get him.
Talk about crippling the franchise. That's the Tobias signing disaster on steroids.

Stephen A Smith on his podcast said the majority of the 76ers are rejoicing Rivers is gone. He was not very well liked. It’s a trend now. Only rondo has spoken fondly of him and that buffalo Perkins. The clippers players in Los angles he coached despised him

Lmao. Not shocking. Doc is gives off the “smartest guy in the room” vibe everywhere. And as much as I despise most of the media he would talk to them in such a condescending manner as if he was their father/coach/gym teacher.
Ever since he was hired I felt this revved up unconscious distancing of my fandom from the team. Couldn’t put my finger on it but the vibes were cheeks as the kids would say. Nevermind summer of ‘19, but Doc Rivers? Dwight Howard? Kate Scott? Even Daryl Morey to a degree. What the hell was this team turning into?

Don't bother. There will always be Know-it-alls who will call for his head after he speaks a first official word as a Sixer. Ignore the trolls.

Re: Sixers hire Nick Nurse
I recall when Nurse first was an assistant with Toronto. He was partially, if not fully credited with their offensive philosophy change.
They used to be allow Lowry and Derozen be ball dominant with pick and rolls... Then they switched to more off ball play from their stars and thrived. Before he became known as a defensive mind. Shows good versatility and intrigued as to which direction they'll go offensively.
