Can we bring in Myers as a consultant to BRad?

Hire Meyers as President of BBO operations and give the coaching job back to Stevens.

Of course 29 teams will be calling Meyers in the next 48 hours.

He's got an injured elbow - that's why he didn't play.

Yes, but how badly if he was sad to be shooting lights out during practice? He was also a liability on defense, Butler going right over him to score and I remember a number of times on the Duncan Robinson drive to the basket.

In any case I was just almost laughing because of course he was injured. He was a gamble and a luxury to have...but in the moment when we needed him most he wasn't able to play.

Lol I was mad we were going to keep Struss over Tacko.

I'll always believe we win if Tatum doesn't get injured, doesn't even have to be true. Hopefully Panthers and Heat both have crushing Final losses.

Greetings, Froob.

I hope you're well. It's been a long time. I'm not here to troll. In that spirit, allow me to share my views.

First, Mazzulla was outcoached. Rivers was outcoached in the Sixers series. The question I have about Mazzulla moving forward: Is he going to be rigid like Rivers? His postgame comments were downright stupid.

Second, the Celtics defense is incredible. Robert Williams, if he's healthy, is already a defensive star. Who cares if he can shoot a three-point shot? He completely disrupted the games of Harden, Maxey, Harris and Niang on the Sixers and Butler and Bam on the Heat. Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart are also incredible. Lose them and you lose what makes the Celtics stand out among teams in the NBA. Mazzulla was just too rigid with his three-point shooting. Just my opinion.

Third, losing Brogdon was a big deal. So was Tatum's playing injured. But then Tyler Herro didn't play a minute. I'm not inclined to get into what-ifs on these things. You beat the Sixers with Embiid playing at 75%-80% of his top form. He missed 33 shots outside the key (out of around 55) in games two through six. Those weren't the shots that Horford was blocking. Those were shots that he tends to make. He just was off. Poor decision-making by him. Terrible coaching by Rivers. Just look a shot chart.

One question for you: Why didn't Mazzulla (or Stevens) send Tatum back to the locker room after his injury to let the trainers look at it, perhaps tape him up? Did anyone ask?

My opinion: You've got a really nice team. Coach? TBD.

This team is so friggin 3ball happy I watched a few times guys in the paint passing OUT to the 3pt line. Especially Horford I remember doing it. You gotta take it strong to the hole and get blocked or fouled.

lol what? He shot 1-9 from the three, most of them contested and from very long ranges.

Celtics should trade for someone like Tyus Jones. Such a trade would not break the bank, but you get a great ball distributor with great assist to turnover ratio. IMHO someone like that would add more value to team than Marcus Smart and Malcolm Brogdon combined.

Not sure what came of that ankle, multiple Heat players seem to turn their ankles and end up fine. Props to Tatum for gutting it out and at least rebounding.

He is, but probably is we never made it an emphasis to cover 3s despite being a team obsessed with the math.

Well I think a lot of us knew Spo was chomping at the bits for a shot at either Joe or Doc lol. I'm not a fan of the Brad Stevens style of coaching, but I do think with a staff that is re-loaded with some experienced former HC, he can be a good coach. Shooting 3s is good, but the quality of the shot matters. Every 3 isn't worth the same.

I think Heat did a great job of taking a lot of 3s, but taking them in the flow of an offense.

Cheers to you as well! Nurse was an excellent hire. I know a lot of people piled on Embiid and he has his issues, but he's a warrior for playing through that injury.

Dwight would have been better than Kornet for sure.

But LOL at thinking Mazzula would have gotten anything out of Martin. Dude would have been on the JD Davison seat.

Martin was good with the Hornets. So that coach got something out of him too. Herro being out gave Martin a chance to play a bigger role, including more shot opportunities. He is a player than isn't scared to take big shots unlike Tatum and Brown.

As far as Dwight, he is the reason the Lakers beat the Heat for the championship in the bubble year. What did Dwight do that was so important? He played hard and physical on Bam. He literally knocked Bam out of the series when he injured Bam. It wasn't a dirty play, it was just a hard hit to the shoulder area.

Been saying to get Dwight since before the lakers got him in the bubble season. Unguaranteed deal should be a no brainer. But, guys here were also too stupid to get the big picture. Dwight is a cancer, he will disrupt chemistry, dwight is a clown and is washed etc etc. he is definitely much better than kornet. He could be useful for around 10-15mins or even more depending on the matchup. Definitely could block all those layups that Al and Rob couldn’t. I tell you, Butler wouldn’t dare to shoot against dwight inside like he’s done with horford. Plus no one’s gonna get those rebounds inside.

If you think Dwight can block layups Al and and Rob can't, please tell me what you are smoking

Seriously :D

We'll see with Nurse. He's clearly better than Doc. But for sure, the Sixers weren't prepared for Robert Williams and the Celtics defense and Doc didn't develop a bench. Also, I hope we don't sign Harden to max money. He's now got Mark Jackson skills. Much needed in Philly.

Back to the Celtics: Note that Miami's defenders, all of them, moved their feet. They were well coached to a man.

Enjoy your day.

Shams reporting Rob was in and out of the game and throwing up due to a stomach bug. Reason for his low minutes. I thought he did something nasty with his knee on a Bam contest.

That’s why he looked exhausted in the minutes he played

Was not a stomach bug. I heard Joe made the team watch games 1-3 again just so "they can learn from their mistakes."

Man, what a trash game last night was in front of the home fans.

I thought if there was any consistency with this team is that game 7 is usually when the Celtics play their best but now I don’t even have that trust with this core anymore.

Extending every series longer than it needs to be doesn't help. We always talk about how tired this team is every year during the playoffs it feels like....

A big reason for that is because they very rarely take care of teams quickly. The one recent sweep we did have against the nets, even that was one of the closest sweeps ever.

I've barely talked about it but how crazy is it Tatum gets hurt the very first play of game 7? Like....What are the odds? I honestly feel like the game was over there. I didn't wanna say it at the time and be a doomer but I just knew it.

Obviously the more games being played the more chance for injury. Boston should have beat Atlanta and Philly in 5 games tops. They should have beat Miami in 6 games tops had they not lost 3 out of of 4 games at home. All this **** eventually catches up with teams.

Counting the 2 play-in games that Miami had to play, this is how many playoff games each team played:

Miami: 20
Boston: 20

I don't think this is why we lost.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)
