Do you mean why he couldn't be born with all-time great shooting touch like Hakeem Olajuwon?

Yeah. I used to think that Giannis could develop like Hakeem. Nope. Hakeem is just too skilled in the post and as a jump shooter.

Giannis is probably more physically overwhelming and as such seems much more similar to baby Wilt Chamberlain. He’d be well served to perfect that fall away 8 footer off glass Wilt made his career on if he didn’t score down low in transition. He’s already decent at it in spurts.

Ye of little faith in thy best player on Earth lol...

Oh wait nm I see what you're doing; you're hoping someone shows him that as bulliten board material. I'm joining in.

Yeah Giannis will never learn post moves; that's outside of his abilities as a person and a man to learn dominant footwork.

The Bucks don't need a total overhaul of their schemes. They just need to maintain the flexibility to use different tools in different situations. Different situations includes the playoffs.

Giannis' barreling to the rim doesn't always work, but it is quite useful in the regular season. It definitely doesn't work as well when he is hobbled.

But Giannis has never been a closer. He is elite at scrambled plays; not as good in the slowed down half court. Even in his 50 piece Game 6, Middleton was the bucket getter at crunch time - "Middleton does it again!".

The window is closing. A team that has lost 6 of its last 7 playoff games needs to take a different approach. We all hope that Griffin is a coaching answer, but more likely the next season or two hinge on player health more than bench leadership.

It's not an overhaul, it's more strategic.

1. Pass Giannis the ball inside in the 1st 7 seconds
2. Get Khash cardio so he can run off ball screens later in the clock
3. Get those 2 guys the ball, with their dribble still, in a place they are instantly a threat to score
4. Everyone else should be making small rolls off the screen they set or away if their man doubles

Gianni owns a beautiful resort at Costa Navarino in Greece for the family, and trains at the Peace and Friendship Stadium (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_and_Friendship_Stadium) where Olympiakos BC plays, so spending some time in a gorgeous country with awesome climate is certainly a fun work trip. He's taken teammates to Greece/Cyprus multiple times.

Patrick Mutombo played for Coach Dunlap when he coached D2.

He's a perfectly fine assistant coach that seems to be extremely well liked and respected?

My only real concern is how much say Griffin has had in these hires. If they are being made from above on his behalf it could create some weird power dynamics.

I thought Prunty did a pretty solid job as interim. Not sure why people are annoyed by him.

I like this.

Mutombo was the HC for the Raptors 905 (their G League team) for two seasons. Both years they had the league’s best record, first year they had the best offense and second year the best defense, and both of these marks by a pretty big margin. Also was on Nurse’s staff for the 2019 title and later Monty’s staff with the Suns.

People are going to react negatively to the Prunty hiring but dude is super well liked/respected as an assistant around the league and he’s far removed from the Kidd stench, he’s a rock solid assistant coach.
