Defense the Ime year was elite, they have elite defensive personnel. Support on offense after Tatum is a problem. Rolling on offense for stretches in the regular season is no guarantee of playoff success. (See D'Antoni/Nash Suns).

Smart, White, Brown, and Rob all have offensive skill and can be great in their roles. The problem is the roles don't blend well. Not enough shooting, not enough playmaking.

Yeah I followed it as it happened. Problem in fact is that it is very hard to win a title.

It's this or we're trading the end of our bench for all-stars. There will be no in between on the posts.

If Pritchard hit a few threes down the stretch in the finals last year then those teams would find a role for him.

I don’t hold grudges I wish him well, but if you can’t hit the shots when it matters, how valuable are you?

I can’t imagine many teams will be banging on Max Strus door after his finals performance.

100%, some trades in here a truely horrific ... While i get the need for change, change for the sake of change is not the way to go.

Some snood stole my bad trade idea in under 24 hours:

Here’s a Washington deal just because of reading everyone else’s terrible deals.

Boston: Kristaps Porzingis, AJ Griffin

Washington: Dejounte Murray, Bogdan Bogdanovich

Atlanta: Jaylen Brown

If Brown seems likely to leave (Atlanta in this case) or if he’s just too pricey in the new CBA. KP had a surprisingly good season which who knows if it keeps up or not but he was quietly very productive and efficient.

Could be interesting defensively if they want to keep Rob playing the rover/4 on defense that would be an absolutely massive front line of Tatum/Rob/KP.

Edit - ps solves an issue of almost everyone pitching brown for a guard who can’t play SF which would make Boston tiny and thin as Kate Moss on the wing smdh.

I just puked in my mouth

Celtics would be back-to-back champs if they would have dealt Jaylen for Anfernee Simons a few years ago.

I was all about that move this time last year. They landed Gallo instead who... kind of turned into Ingles.

Still wouldn't be a bad idea though they have a murkier path to get there - not sure they will have the MLE or be able to use it if they get it.

How does this work - if you are a second apron team, you can't use an MLE - but what if you use it and go over the apron? Or you just can't go over the apron? What if incentives kick in and push a team over or something? Some weird kinks in there to me.

I just made it up. That guy is not me though lol.

Edit: trade Brogdon, backup big men and picks for an option-picked-up KP at the draft. Give double freedom rockets to the apron as they blow by it in epic fashion. Smart-White-Brown-Tatum-KP with PP, JD, Hauser, Al and Rob on the bench.
Edit2: seriously though if Denver is going to be the team to go through for the foreseeable future, I think they will need to be big.

Trades may be all over the place, but does anyone really know how they will turn out? I believe 90% or higher were LOL at Sac for giving up their "best" player last summer for "Mr.Loser" in Sabonis. I am sure there are many other examples.

Point is Fire away with any trades ideas.. Otherwise why bother posting in the offseason.

I personally believe Doing very little or nothing and expecting different results are a far worse Purgatory.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

In other words, you can't have 2 supermax guys on the same team.

Tatum's supermax kicks in, in 2 years. So sometime in the next 2 years, JB needs to get traded.

Steaks are players on a supermax. You can only have 1 steak.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Boston gets-Kenyon Martin Jr

Houston gets-Malcolm Brogdon

Houston is looking for vets and has a lot of cap space. They have a club option on Martin Jr worth about 2 mil, and he asked to be traded last year. He would fit in great with Boston and they would save 20.5 mil in the deal.

Boston is currently 4 mil over the tax. Say 13 mil for Grant puts them 17 mil over. This deal puts them 3.5 mil under. Waive Champagnie, trade Pritchard for a pick, and decline Muscala, and suddenly they are 13 mil under the tax. They would have some extra money to play with.
