Those NJPW tournaments back in the day used to be fire!!! Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero...those dudes were my guys back then, it hurts to think about it

Did you ever watch Power Pro Wrestling with The Freebirds, Michael “PS” Haynes, Terry Gordy, Terry Funk, “Dr. Death” Steve Williams, Mick Foley, One Man Gang, Benoit, Duggan and others I can’t recall.

I used to catch it in Philadelphia back in the late 80s/early 90s. That was ECW before ECW existed.

Wasn't that an old Memphis promotion? I vaguely remember but i forgot what years it operated. Wasn't Jerry Lawler's kid involved with them?

It's crazy how many of these guys are dead.

This whole thread takes me back.

Besides, pro-wrestling sucks now. It's all been done before. MMA is much better.

Wrestling and MMA really don't have anything in common except for MMA fighters cutting wrestling promos to hype up their fights.

Actually, you'll be surprised...MMA and Pro Wrestling have a deep rooted history together.

I know the history. That doesn't mean they are the same product.

Ehhhh. They both have their own politics at play. I also don't have a need to watch grown men actually beat each other to death. As long as they are pretending they are is fine by me.

CM Punk didn't kill AEW, he was outspoken about some problems behind the curtain. His gripes were credible but he went about it in a wrong way

I got permission to create this thread from the mods.. what does everyone think Jey Uso Is going to do ? Will he join Roman Reigns as the mini Me Tribal Chief or become Main Event Jey USO ? I really like talking to people about wrestling. I appreciate other people's perspective

Heyyyyy finally a wrestling thread in the Knicks forum. Better than those nonsense politic threads.

I think it really depends on how much longer they want to extend the Bloodline story. If Jey sides with Jimmy then the blowoff would be The Usos vs Roman and Solo and maybe Main Event Jay vs Roman one more time for the title maybe at Summer Slam. If Jey sides with Roman it is a little trickier figuring out who Jimmy will side with. It seems Sami and KO are moving onto a tag division feud with Pretty Deadly. Solo is the key to it all. Once he turns on Roman it wouldn't shock me if he was the one to dethrone Roman.

I don't want to see Jey Uso become a Tribal Chief Mini Me. It would be great if he built his own tribe with other family members in the wrestling business. Roman doesn't need the title to make this story interesting

The only wrestler i even know about or follow these days is Gionna (Liv Morgan) because she's from the Elmwood Park area of New Jersey and she's a complete sweetheart (also, very pretty).

Oh. And Asuka because she's a complete bad ass that likes to game.

Vince bought NWA? I could have sworn that TNA was doing PPV's under the moniker TNA/NWA when they first started in 2002.

My bad, i grew up in the 80s so WCW = NWA to me. I used to watch NWA wrassling when Ric Flair and Sting were just flat out awesome.

Shout out to The Great Muta. I loved that crazy bastard.

The NWA is still going strong r

Actually, it's a great idea as it provides an avenue for big name retired MMA fighters to continue a career in fighting entertainment ... assuming they have the personality and interview chops for it. Conor could be a great candidate if he would guarantee that he pull his punches in the ring.

New Jack from ECW ranks top 3. He was a psychopath.

Shout out to Sabu, Mick Foley, Terry Funk, Hayabusa, and the rest of the crazies. Now those dudes didn't give a f*ck.
