I don’t think we can match a KP contract in a trade

Seems like they would move KP if that was his plan, no?

A. Trading Jaylen now ? Bad idea. Will get less value because of expiring. Better to trade him next year or year after.
B. If we let grant walk; we need another 4-5.
C.a minor move won’t make a big difference and I don’t super care about it. Hard to get in our top 8 without sending out significant assets.
D. If we trade brogdon or another core rotation piece; we should send out 2-4 picks with it and really try to land someone significant
I don’t think we need a significant piece in a Brogdon trade, we need a better piece someone like Kyle Anderson would be ideal
I didn’t say need; I’m saying that if we trade a core rotation piece I would prefer to add assets to it so we can have a more impactful addition. Kyle Anderson is good but I’m just saying I’d like to aim higher if we trade someone from our top 6-7
We're not gonna get much back for Brogdon.
He got traded last summer for Daniel Theis (our 9th best player) and a 1st round pick (that turned out to be the 29th pick, a very late 1st rounder).
Brogdon has less trade value now, since he's now 30 instead of 29 and has less years left on his contract.
If we can get someone like Kyle Anderson for him, I'd do it. Anderson has much more size, a much better defender, less of a black hole on offense and if Anderson can shoot like he did this season, not much of a difference between them as shooters..
Wolves could use a PG and might be looking to move Anderson after the fight he had with Gobert.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

An expiring Porzingis on a rebuilding team could be a nice rental. Lease with option to buy..
Beal to Portland for Simons/3/filler makes a lot of sense..

Indiana got cap relief, a first-rounder and a decent upside gamble in Nesmith - which has worked out so far. And they let him pick his team because their timeline let them.
Brogdon’s lower body stayed healthy-ish for a full year, the elbow is a fluke. He showed he can come off the bench. We can get decent value.

Windhorst thinks Beal could go for peanuts because of his no-trade.
Trade checker says Brogdon/Gallo/Muscala/Pritchard matches salary..
Buy-low on Beal could also let you sell high on Jaylen.. more youth, more cap flexibility, frontcourt help….

100% on board with this. Brogdon, 3 first round picks, plus whoever..... for a very significant player hopefully in the front court or point guard.
How would this even be possible? If Boston keeps Brown and Maxes him, then trading Brogdon + draft assets for a "significant player" sounds like that player would be even more expensive. Seems undoable.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

You don't have much more cap flexbility since Beal's supermax is kicking in now. Jaylen's doesn't for 2 years.
And guys, if you're trading JB, it's gotta be for something like Simons/#3. Bradley Beal absolutely sucks

I mean depending on cost, I could live with a White, Beal, Brown, Tatum, Horford lineup.
I mean this is where Stevens has a talk with Brown & Tatum and tell them they can shave some $ off the super max and the Celtics can get a Bradley Beal or take the super max and setlle for Sam Hauser. Make them choose.

Sure, if you can get a better player than Kyle Anderson, great.
But the new CBA makes it harder to do trades where you just trade a bunch of picks for some really expensive player. The new CBA encourages teams to hold onto their picks to try and get cheap, cost-controlled talent where you can find a quality player (like the Nuggets did with Christian Braun, the lakers did with Austin Reaves) and keep him for 3 or 4 years on dirt cheap money.

JB has just 1 year left on his current deal. If JB gets a supermax, it would kick in in 1 year - not 2.
Bradley Beal definitely does not suck.

If we traded Brown/Malcolm/PP for Beal/Kuz our team is more balanced imo and maybe even a bit smarter.
Marcus/Beal/Tatum/Kuz/Al or Rob
JD/White/Hauser/Gallo/Rob or Al
Some big ifs with depth there, really have to hope Gallo/JD work out. But I really like that starting 5.

Offensively Beal is a upgrade over JB because of superior playmaking and slightly better ability to get his own shot.
But defensively we switch everything and Beal would suddenly give the other team a guy to pick on all game.
