Yea but he's going to spend the whole year in rehab probably. If he rejected the trade... would be pretty upsetting.
Dipo is getting traded or stretched unfortunately. I don't know all the details of his surgery and rehab but thats my guess.

Woj on Beal:
What I think Beal wants, what I think he’s always wanted, is to win in Washington, and if Michael Winger can show him a pathway in the next year or two where he says, “hey, I think we can win. I think we can be a contender if you hang in there with me,” then I think he’s all in on that. If Winger tells him, or is telling him, “I don’t see how we can do that,” then it’s, “where can I go that we can win,” because he does love DC. He loves — he’s loved that market and living there. He’s been connected to that community.

[. . .]

I think for Beal, I’m not sure this would just happen in the next week. It could, but i think that they do have time on their side and Beal’s not dying to leave. He’s not asked for a trade. He’s not said, “I want you to move me,” but I think if you are Washington, you’re trying to weigh everything. . . They don’t have to unravel this thing all at once. They have time. They just got there.

Woj on Lillard:
They’re not talking to teams. Portland is not trying to trade Damian Lillard. Damian Lillard has not asked to be traded. He’s around the facility every day. He’s engaged with that front office and organization. Listen, I think they’re gonna try to do everything they can here at the draft and free agency to build around him.

I highly doubt Sac would be considering including Domantas Sabonis or Keegan Murray.

I feel like that package pretty average even with Murray in place of Mitchell. Monk an expiring. So you basically getting Murray and Heurter for Beal now if they include multiple picks then its different. But ultimately this all comes down to whether Beal agrees or not.

This is all just speculation, i dont think Sac would include Murray but if they were willing that easily makes it a better package. Especially for a rebuilding team.

Then you take Herro and/or picks, whichever isn’t needed for the Beal trade, and get some high level role players in there.

You swap Herro Lowry Duncan Dipo and 1 of max/Gabe for Beal turner buddy Pat Bev and JRich or something and that’s a far superior roster than last year

Dame
Beal
Lavine

Thats how I have them ranked. Dame is the ideal player but if we cant get him Beal is not bad. Between Beal and Lavine all things being considered I go with Beal. Remember Lavine is a part of Klutch.

That's how it should be rank but if we can get Beal before the draft I wouldn't wait for Dame. We can't keep trying to get the biggest fish in the ocean every time.

Pretty sure the no-trade aspect is only for the first year of his deal. Opting into the 2nd year would mean he can be moved without needing him to give the OK.

I can't imagine Oladipo activating his no trade clause in this situation. He's likely not going to playing another game in Miami anyway and is a FA after next season. Miami can't afford to keep his dead salary on the roster.

The first tweet is the dilemma I said they would run into. Nobody out there worth the #3 overall pick, and the players that they would move the pick for - those teams aren’t interested in the pick.

I’ve been saying portlands going to find out real quick they’re not going to be able to build a legit contender. They might be able to trick themselves into thinking so but reality will hit quick when the season starts. We’ll see

Also, we know everything Woj gets is from a team-centric source. While Shams' stuff is player-centric. So just something to consider when seeing reports from one or the other.

On Lillard the league will need to wait until after the draft, and a bit. You would think he would give the team a couple days after the draft to formulate a plan come to him and say this is what we got. We couldn't get a running mate for you with the third Pick we felt was justifiable. Where do you want to go, we can do a couple of things to bolster up the team by using the talent we do have but this is heading into a re-built, give us a list of teams that you would happy on.

Portland is trading the 3rd for Jimmy Butler. Script flip! We are the tankers!

To be honest, I don't trust Woj on most things these days. It feels like he does the bidding of the organizations and puts out the narrative they want to push for access to announce Trades/FA signings.

I think if Portland trade their 3rd pick for Zion Williamson that would be a terrible move. In 4 seasons the guy has played 144/308 games for NO so far.

For the guy that Zion was coming out of the draft for NO to want to move him as soon as they have given him a 5yr 194mil deal with no player option or team option says a lot about what they believe about him.

Also if I'm Lillard, Portland getting Zion wouldn't move me, especially when you have Grant on board at PF already. At least Grant will play.

Now if Portland get Ingram that might be different.

WOJ and SHAMs both have alliances with certain organizations to get first dibs on info....so they are mouth pieces for those organization.

Exactly. The Heat’s mouthpiece is Stoogey Barry Jackson, who’s been pushing acquiring both Beal and Lillard. :o

Return to Miami Heat
