Collins and ur isnt close.

In a system i think he is a perfectly capable defender and on a team that moves the ball he is a great lob target as well as a 3pt threat

I voted Grant. He's the better, more versatile defender and better 3 pt shooter.

Collins might be the better overall player but with all the money we're spending on other guys we'll run into cap trouble spending $25 million dollars per year on role players.

Can we combine two of the names and get Marvin Williams in a time machine?

I went with Grant Williams myself.
Like you said, Grant is versatile, can just about play 3 positions on Offense, and switch off on all 5 positions on Defense.

He also takes on some of the Bigger/Better players. I.e.: Giannis & the Joker. And then, he still has the 3pt shot.

I think fit matters a lot and at this moment. I have john collins fitting and producing better with this boston team than any in atlanta.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Larry Nance. Or Maxi Kleber. Or Beef Stew. Need lunch pail guys on a team that prioritizes just the two stars + Brogs and doesn’t move the ball much. Crash for the boards, cut to the basket, do the dirty little things, switch on D, set hard screens, etc. Players who can impact the game without needing the ball.

If Brogdon is out and we need another semi-playmaker from the PF position, then it’s Kyle Anderson.

Running the Grant-Rob-Al back means we'd yet again have the worst scoring PF/C combo in the league. Collins from 3 seasons ago was nice, but he seems to have oddly regressed. So yead I guess I'd pick Bagley because he's the cheapest and the youngest of the bunch. Also got some size and offensive upside. But these are all bad options IMO.

Add Kyle Anderson and Stewart and call it a day. You get the guy who fought Gobert and the guy who went nuts trying to fight Lebron.

Up the toughness/intensity level by 10x.

Move Brogdon, Pritchard and possibly Grant.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I like Grant and all and I'm not a huge fan of John Collins - but the guy is 25 y/o and an elite-ish offensive talent with upside elsewhere, and $25m doesn't seem like such a high salary any more. All else equal, you take Collins.

Out of this list Collins by a decent margin. Better size and skills which we badly need. He had a overall pretty bad year but I've expected him to be traded for two years and it hasn't happened so I'm sure a change of scenery could help.

Not on this list, but I'd prioritize Porzingis, Collins and Christian Wood probably in that order for one of Grant or Brogdon.

Ignoring salaries, I would take Collins over the other two. Better fit for the Celtics. With that said, 25m is too much for him and an in-shape and healthy Grant is a decent player. He can win you a playoff game like he did against the Bucks the previous season. 15m is a decent price for him but only if he is in-shape.

Of the 3 - Bagley because he is the cheapest and can score on the inside
We lack inside scoring from the PF and C positions. I am fed up of the finesse/limited bigs we have (except Rob). Stop looking for 3&D on all positions which are not JT or JB. Try to find someone who complements them by moving, cutting, getting the ball down low, setting great picks, crashing the boards when we brick 3s etc

Move Grant and upgrade the PF/C position somehow (Grant S7T, Pritchard, Brogdon, future picks etc)
He is a smart kid but very limited on offense, with a very big mouth that holds him back

If he comes back, tape his mouth during games. I am sure he will do better

I pick whoever can focus on every possession and cry to the refs less.

Grant and it isn't close.

Bagley hasn't been able to put it together for any reasonable stretch of his career so far, he's immediately eliminated from the conversation.

John Collins in theory is good, but he's regressed since he got his big contract and I think there is a reason why the Hawks are rumored to be looking to trade him literally every trade deadline and offseason and yet there are never any takers. Take into consideration the contracts as outlined and Grant is the easy choice for $10m less.

Grant gets so much hate, but 4/60 is a sweet spot for him. I feel like 4/60 is the new 4/48 with how the cap is moving and that feels like a solid deal for what he provides. Plus he will fit with so many teams, which makes him amazing trade filler if you decide to try and take any swings down the line.

Ill take Bagley. He was in Sacramento before Mike Brown and was in Detroit with a subpar coach. Coaching matters and he really hasn't had much of it.

Bagley. He's more talented than Grant and as talented as Collins. He's cheaper by a lot too. I'm just curious how he'd be on a good team for once with veterans. Not many guys have had a worse time since being drafted as far as teammates, coaches, injuries and organizations go than Bagley.

That's some awful list of options but I guess Bagley is the least awful since it's only 2 years and the least money.

I vote NONE OF THE ABOVE.

Should have added a 4th Choice.
