I'm not really convinced by his handling ability, especially when under pressure, but if these pro scouts think it's good enough to translate to the NBA then who am I to say they're wrong.

I value JJ Redicks opinion very, very highly.

His handle is pretty good for his height.

Once again he wasn't asked to create and play iso ball. Alabama ran a strict offensive system which involved him coming off screens. When the game was tight Miller has shown he can get his own offense. His game is more smooth than flashy.

Check out this handle. This dude is so crafty we need to stop the "he can't dribble" narrative. This dude is a true wing and can absolutely create.

I've just come to the point where Miller fans are going to act like Scoot is a poor mans Dennis Smith and Brandon Miller is a black Brian Scalibrine. Some of the statements from both sides are freaking insane.

I'm here for it though. Makes me giggle.

Regardless I think we're going to get a damn fine player. If I see Miller compared to Deni Advija again though I'll have to check myself into a mental hospital.

Nice. In case we needed a reminder, some teams don't look for a starting pg. Much appreciated.

The main question is for what. And who provides the best return.

Article from Bleacher Report where Givony’s mock has us taking Miller. Says teams see comparisons to Paul George and Jayson Tatum:

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10079700-espn-nba-draft-prospect-brandon-miller-a-paul-george-jayson-tatum-type

A quote from the article:
"NBA teams are scouring the globe, searching for 6'9" wings in Brandon Miller's mold," he said. "A Paul George, Jayson Tatum type who can get his shot off over smaller defenders, create for himself and others in the pick and roll, passes off of live dribble and brings defensive versatility, sliding from shooting guard to power forward."
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

So without the hindsight bias of Tatum ending up being one of the best draft picks in years; how do he and Miller compare as prospects coming out of College?

Offensively, it seems Tatum had the edge on all things scoring wise besides shooting where I'd give Miller a decent advantage there. Tatums handles just seemed a little tighter, and while his inside finishing wasn't great, it still looked much more competent than Miller's.

Passing wise, seemed pretty even. Both guys showed flashes but neither projected to be big time playmaker.

Based what I'm looking at in past scouting reports, Tatum seems liked a better all around scorer while Miller more of a pure shooter.

Naturally, this is likely cause of the system of offense they played. Alabama was in love with jumpshots and it is possible that it limited what Miller could show in a half court offense.

Tatum was about 15 months younger than Miller during his college season.

With the news confirmed that we are working out and meeting with both Miller and Scoot again. I wonder if they will work with each other? or if it will be separate workouts.

My guess is separate but would be cool if they played against each other a bit.

All signs point to Miller I just hope the Scoot fans embrace him if he is the pick.

Idk about it.
Seems like most of the ESPN guys like Reddick, Woj, Givony are saying Miller has edge in our office and most. Ringer also seems to be on that page with Russilo, KOC etc.

Action Network- hardwood Paroxism thinks we are keeping Scoot alive in hopes to work a trade out of 2 or be part of a 3 team deal where we move from 2 down to 3.

Betting markets have moved to Scoot as fav for #2 over last few days, but those can swing back and forth pretty fluidly.

Anything can happen with MJ getting involved though, If Scoot looks significantly better in workout Monday it wouldn't shock me if we went Scoot. Still holding out hope that we end up with Miller despite this late surge by Scoot.

I can't speak for everyone, but I think I've mentioned many times that I'll be more than happy with miller. He feels an immediate need, and projects to be, at worst, a solid starter.

No doubt I'll be annoyed if we pick miller and scoot ends up the better player.

I would hope the same applies for the Miller fans if scoot is the pick. And likewise just assume that Miller fans would be highly annoyed if we pick Scoot and Miller ended up the better player.

But I think almost all of us will root like hell for whoever we draft and give them a clean slate and time to come good.

I think what's important is that whichever player ends up better, the scoreboard counting is kept to a minimum. Because that's what tears a community apart. We are all guilty of it at some point.

100% will be separate workouts at separate times of the day.
