Yeah... team gets shafted by a player with that clause

Glad he isn’t going to Miami.

Is that confirmed?

Sort of a steal for Sun's, but Beal plays the same position as Boooker.

Someone make sense of this for me, please.

Beal has a no trade clause and can pick the team he goes to and for what essentially… and he’s making $50+ million per over the next 4 years. It is a steal for the Suns but his market wasn’t large due to the contract and injury concerns (averaging 55 games per season over the last 4 seasons).

The biggest thing was Beal’s no trade clause though.

I figured it was going to be a soft market due to the trade clause and his salary/cap changes, but it basically Shamet and seconds...

I remember people talking about boatloads of firsts for Beal a couple of years ago.

Guessing they waive Paul...i think we should think long and hard about claiming Paul.

Yeah, this is a bit lighter than I expected but I was saying that the 11th pick would be too much for him. But again, that trade clause is a killer.

2 things, I thought trading CP3 makes his contract fully guaranteed...

Also, I still don't get it from the Sun's perspective... Is Beal going to play PG?

No one will ever be given a no trade clause again. If I am a wizards fan I am mad as hell. This is his value? And you decided to keep him and forgo blowing it up last year for a chance at the best prospect in years so you are going to tank in the weakest draft in years? Brutal and worst managed situation.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

People are going to look back 20 years from now at the Gobert trade and the Beal trade and be extremely confused lmao

i bet they try and outscore people. they will play Beal at SG, Booker at SF and Durant at PF. or basically 3 wings a PG and Ayton. But i think Booker and Beal can handle PG duties for spurts if the Suns need to bring in a PF.

i didnt think Beal would go for a lot with his injury history and his massive contract, but i thought they would at least get a 1st and some type of player. this is strictly a salary dump. Those pick swaps likely never used, Washington is always going to be a worse team than PHX

Book and Beal is weird. Talented but weird.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

If i remember it right, esp during CP3 injuries, Booker was doing a lot of playmaking/PG roles.

They could make it work. A defensive guard and a rim protector with those 3....

If the pick swap is in 26-30 then it could ve very valuable. I have a feeling after 2 seasons PHO will implode.

Ayton can't be happy being the 4th wheel. Alsl the dude plays scared.

KD isnt getting younger..

Beal is injury prone.

Unless a lot of players want to play woth Booker then '25 up is a wildcard

I fully expect Ayton to be moved. They need a defensive big man and to build out some depth.

I feel like it's a fair deal. Yes, ideally you would want more assets but Wiz needed to rebuild and and get from underneath that Beal contract. They just did it a year late. Additionally I really don't think Beal is as good as people make him out to be and I question the fit in PHX.

I just don't see any team bailing PHX out of that Ayton situation. But after this Beal trade, I gotta wonder what some front offices are smoking.

That NTC forced Washington’s hand. They probably had a handshake deal that he’d pick where he went and they’d make it happen.

Starting a rebuild with Avdija, Kispert, Johnny Davis, pick 8 and KP potentially as a trade asset isn’t a great starting point for them but at least they’ve got guys to give minutes to now.

I remember Howard Beck going on Locked on Magic a few weeks ago and saying that Ayton for WCJ would be a big move for us. I think that's the outside view from many people.

Michael Jordan has agreed to sell his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets to a group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall for an approximately $3 billion valuation, according to league sources. The transaction ends Jordan's 13-year run as majority owner.

Jordan paid $275 million for a majority stake in the franchise in 2010.

So the maths has this as a compound interest rate of 22% annual. I ask you, what investment on earth provides this level of pay?

This is how owners make money; not from ticket sales, TV rights, etc. Which help the team not cost anything annually.

Jordan east made 2.5B for putting his money into a NBA bank for 13 years. WOW!
