There is possibly one thing, get the trade over as soon as possible before Phoenix decided to jump in. Other then that probably nothing he could do.

This was in the works for a while. The son didn't just wake up Sat and say hey dad would Beal like to come to Suns. There was for sure back door collusion way before Beal asked out. And there's a chance Miami wasn't really in this at all. Beal could have used Miami as a cover for the collusion.

I'd say getting the maximum amount of money (he could have only get the supermax last year only in Washington and a NTC) he could get and picking the team he goes to after getting a supermax makes him a winner in life and a great chance to still win while just being 30 years old next season.

Yes we are the modern day Buffalo Bills.... some people think that team was a success, others think of them as the ultimate failures for not wining a ring. Three Super Bowls, three Super Bowl losses. To be fair we only have two Finals losses post the big three era.

KD, Beal, Harden, Kyrie..the list goes on.

Self entitled, uncompetitive, unbearable DIVAS that happen to be great at basketball. But lack any resembles of a backbone or character or balls.

Sure I'd love to have their BB skills on my team, but I swear - it will be so hard to root for any of them if we get any of them someday. Hell, it's getting hard to stand 80% of these "stars".

I don't know what to tell you. This current NBA culture is disgusting to me.

Because we now have actual assets and can trade them for better players than Beal. We did not miss out. I've never understood the fascination with Beal. I would have supported him, but it's such a bad move because of that contract, the limitations of the player, and the number of injuries he's accrued. I don't expect Phoenix to win anything...

What assets exactly do we have?
Expiring contracts?
FRPs that no one wants, because Heat don't tank and they are like #20+ picks?
Tyler Herro on a fair or even bad contract?

None of this gets anything, I'm shocked they decided to low ball and got outbid by a couple 2nd rounders and will just run it back with the possible Butler/Bam, who desperately needed help. Poor Jimmy, probably his last year and FO failed him again.

First, we didn't lowball them. We had more to offer than Phoenix, but BEAL chose Phoenix. His agent clearly talked him into it.

Second, our assets may not be high end assets, but that's what happens when you're always winning. That doesn't mean our assets are worthless. It takes one player to force his way to Miami. Just one. Chill a bit, okay?

Unless... Miami was standing firm that they had to take Robinson back. I don't know if that happened but that would be a serious problem for a team wanting to rebuild. Swapping out Robinson into say Oladipo's expiring and younger player like Jovic could have been what would stop that type of trade and Washington taking the Sun's offer.

Let's say Blazers decide to draft at #3.
Dame is unhappy, what is he gonna do? Ask out? Let's say he does that.
Blazers will say, fine we'll send you somewhere you want to go if the offer is reasonable.
Dame continues to play for the Blazers, 1 year passes and nothing happens, because he is under contract for 4 years and the Blazers don't have to do anything until the right offer comes along.
