I know trade exceptions can be useful, but I still find them triggering. Grunfeld and Shep used to brag about collecting those all the time.

I dont fault the new front office for this. This was a cleanup of the mess Shepard left behind. I was expecting a low return in the Beal trade, but I must say that I was not prepared for this low. The amount of leverage Beal was given was maddeningly absurd.
Maybe tomorrow, I will take solace in the fact that we can start a true rebuild. For right now though @&$(*@)!!%$&#!_%! right now, and all that came before!!!

Thought it was a "no trade clause" but turns out it was a "trade me here clause".

Wiz FO need to realise that being nice and overly generous is going to just lead them to dealing with parasites.

$17 million TPE to BOYD.

TPEs evaporate in to thin air once you drop below the cap. If the idea is to open up a ton of capspace in 2024 then the TPEs are worthless.

What a disappointing return for someone who was apparently the star of the show in Washington.

Second round picks are going to be pretty much worthless. Chris Paul will be outta here nearly straight away and then you’ve got shamet face left.

Just a horrible result.

The idea is probably to use it before that to gather picks from a team trying to cut salary we won't be below the cap this year or at least we have the ability to not be not do we have an incentive to be. They also work if say we are 5 mill below the cap and we wanna take in a 10 mill player.

I'm putting my Brian Windhorst glasses on right now.

CP3 is expected to be moved.
Goodwin is now included in the trade to PHO.
Morris' name is in rumors.
We don't have any PGs on the roster past this season.
Add in the Porzingis rumor...

Could we be seeing Scoot in DC this season?

Can someone who supports this trade explain to me what would have been lost by refusing to move Beal to the Suns?

Beal refuses to go to the Heat, we refuse to trade him to the Suns. He sits on the bench for four years. We miss out on... two 2nd round picks.

Beal refuses to go to the Heat, we refuse to trade him to the Suns. Eventually Beal caves and agrees to go the Heat. We get FRP's and/or Jovic.

So worst-case scenario, we would have lost two 2nds. Big deal.

I absolutely hate the idea of including Goodwin...... What the **** ....... Why? More Beal demands? Stupidity? More seconds? What the **** I was so hopeful. . . . . . . . . .**** Bradly Beal. I'm burning my jersey in a trash can as soon as the sun goes down.

Wizards focused on everything else but getting a fair return.

1. Make Beal happy
2. Make Beal's agent happy
3. Make the NBA players association happy
4. Make the Suns happy

Meanwhile the cupboard is still completely bare. Still the worst collection of young players & assets going forward out of 30 teams and Wizards fans collectively going WTF!

This is really really bad first move. Just reeks of desperation. Other NBA players are even shocked. There was no reason to rush to make a decision in literally 2 days and take the first offer made.

We also get Duncan Robinson who is a negative asset. And I doubt Heat were offering a FRP.

Why in the world did we need to include Goodwin?! Something else must be afoot. Please.

Turd doesn't want to admit he screwed up Davis. I would have rather gotten rid of Davis vs Goodwin. Ugh. What a horrible trade. At least we are no longer delusional about being the worst franchise in the NBA. Screw Turd!

I think the whole NBA is confused tbh. Every other team in the NBA would have just held on to Beal until he plays ball.

The answer: Wiz have been employing a strategy to look like a great workplace in hopes that they build themselves up as an attractive free agent destination. So far they look lovely to players that want to cash checks and terrible to players that want to win.
