I bought one pretty quickly after launch. I love the portability, and I've been able to get almost every game I've wanted working on it. That said, I don't leave my house much. I spend most of my time in my office on my desktop, so I don't feel I've been able to give it the time it deserves.

If you can see yourself using it outside of the house, or in bed away from your desktop, it's 100% a great purchase. But I look back now and wonder if I could've held off a bit longer. I haven't used mine in a couple months now.

Genuinely over the moon that they're re-making Super Mario RPG. I couldn't tell you how many hours I put into the original as a kid. It's a legit Mt. Rushmore Super Nintendo RPG for me.

I’m down for Super Mario Bros Wonder. I found my original atomic purple GBC two weeks ago and my copy of Super Mario Bros Deluxe. It made me really want to play a modern 2D Mario and I almost grabbed a digital copy of the New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe port. Glad I didn’t as I’ll simply wait for this now.

Wonder looks interesting. Which reminds me, I haven't even played Bowser's Fury yet, but I've heard it's really good. Super Mario RPG I just replayed on the SNES mini thing a couple years ago but I'm sure I'll replay this one. If only they'd finally remake Earthbound.

Cowboy's GotY, says if there's ever a game worthy of 10 out of 10, it's this one.

All I needed to hear.

Yup, this is one I was really anxious to hear - his candid thoughts with the NDA over.

Bowser's Fury is excellent, and if I had to guess, it is what the next "big" Mario will be, and I could see it being a launch title for a Switch Pro simply because it was a game that did have some framerate issues and needed a little extra umph. But you could tell this was Nintendo kind of workshopping the next iteration of Mario. I freakin' loved it. It was the best blend of Mario 3D Land/World and Odyssey.

I do really like my SteamDeck, but I'm with schligs here in that I don't really use it as a portable device. I actually use it more as a replacement for my desktop that was hooked up downstairs to my TV. Every once in a while I'll take it out, but most of the time I'm almost purely using it as an emulation machine or to play Vampire Survivor.....which now is coming out for Switch so I'll probably just end up playing it on that.

4 player co-op Vampire Survivors sounds great. I'm getting in on that beta asap.

I been playing old reversed engineered servers for Socom U.S. Navy Seals for PS2 and PS3. Sony killed the servers years ago. But the community has their own now. I'm a bit shocked PS5 doesn't have a SOCOM yet.

I have a long day tomorrow so I was not going to stay up, but it looks like FF16 actually unlocks at 11 (CST) so I'll probably play for an hour now.

Or so I tell myself.

My next two days: some email responding, doing very quick and easy style edits on a project that's done but won't go live for at least four weeks, watching the entire season two of The Bear, then the draft, then playing FF until I start to smell funky and should probably take a walk. I'm thinking Saturday around 9:00 pm.

Still playing Diablo 4, but I think I'm getting a little burnt out. Im level 81 I believe.

Endgame just isn't all that fun, tbh. Grinding nightmare dungeons hasn't been enjoyable, world bosses get deleted in a minute even on World Tier 4. The nonstop loss of function to your character is infuriating (nonstop stuns, freezes, etc.).

Not sure how much more I plan on playing before Season 1.

Once I figured I was gonna be playing FF for the next few weeks, playing Cyberpunk seemed kind of pointless. I installed and fired up Borderlands 3 for the first time in three years.

I just hit level eight and I've had three Legendaries and two Rares drop. Gotta say, I know lots of people (including me) criticized the game for giving away its best gear too easily, but it's a lot more fun than Diablo 4.

Inexplicably excited. I don't have top of mind what the release schedule looks like through EOY, but short of BG3 being a conflict, I will be prioritizing this over all new games. This is seriously like a dream come true for me. I can't believe we're getting this and a Suikoden I/II remaster in the same year.

I know in modern gaming we do not have good impressions of Star Ocean, but the entire reason Square has continued pumping out mediocre sequels is because at one point this was a great series. This is that one point.

Seamless pick-up into the full game. Took like 3 seconds to load. What an incredible demo experience.

Wait it's out NOW?! I thought it went live at 11:00 PM tonight. Whoops. Looks like I'm gonna be even more flaky as hell today.

I know I'm a bit late to the game, but I'm finally hitting a stride with TotK and I'm just loving it. I've figured out combat, I've knocked off the snow boss and the sand boss, and I've crushed a ton of shrines to get my hearts and stam up. I love this game.
