I was initially drawn into Amen's first step, but I have soured on him a ton.

Black is way better to me - younger, stronger, better shooter, better defender (And multi positional), absurdly high character and intangibles, gets to the line a ton.

If Black had a 38% 3PT shot in college he would be the clear cut #2 IMO. I think with his size and strength you could play Dame / Sharpe / Black 1-3 a ton.

I actually think you could potentially be correct here. Feels like a good time to throw some chaos in and get a team to flinch, especially if they know Scoot is the player everyone else wants.

That said, the Hornets are a crap franchise run by a dumpster fire owner, so who the f knows.

You’re absolutely correct about the dysfunction of that franchise. Sadly ours seems content to be in that same boat. Why the new, majority Charlotte Ownership is allowing Jordan to make the section is puzzling. Or perhaps they weren’t happy Jordan chose Miller and are now demanding the change to Scoot.

I’d rather have Scoot despite Miller being a better fit, but I think both can be very good players in the league for many years. I like Scoot’s mentally and drive more, and I’m a bit concerned about the gun incident in terms of character and decision-making.

Fun times!

Yes. Yes I would do Black. I would do Black over Miller, too. But to do Amen over Miller..

Amen over Black...

I'm getting a headache even thinking this is a real possibility.

Ya, I actually prefer Black to Miller. Black is a guy that will just 'make it' IMO. I think he has a super high floor, think even his worst case is a Aaron McKie level role player (IE passable secondary ballhandler, elite peremiter defender w/ positional switchability). I expect him to be much more than that.

There's zero.zero chance they would trade Dame to Orlando.

I will be joining TSE in white-hot RAGE if the Blazers draft Amen. I'll go on record to say, both Black and Ausar will be better NBA players than Amen.

And yeah, if I were the ActualGM I'd be looking hard at Black. He's about as close to a can't miss prospect as there is in this draft, given the role he'd play. I know it's a loose "floor" comparison, but Black is already about 3 times the playmaker/passer/defense warper that McKie was.

Honestly, I just can't wait for a week from now. This next season will be a super fun season to track rookies...there are soooo many question marks!

Playmaker and passer, ya even Black's floor likely is better than McKie - but Aaron was a 2.0 DBPM guy if you take out his washed final year - thats REALLY good for a wing.

I've edited the thread to reflect that the draft is in thirty minutes.

My gut feel is if we draft Scoot then another team comes in and we make a trade, either for a big time vet or perhaps move down a pick or two and get a player or picks. Perhaps Houston, gonna be fun

I would LOVE to trade down to 4 with Houston and pick up Eason in the process.

I’m just saying, if Zion is there via trade and Scoot falls to Blazers… if they don’t do that deal, then just trade Dame and call it an era.

Very intrigued by tonight’s prospects! Not going to rule out a big trade, but drafting #3 will be very exciting if we keep the player, too.
