I guess we should pick a guy who can't shoot at all and take the ball out of our best players hands?

Can the best player not share the basketball?

He can but if Lamelo is initiating the offense then what spacing is there with Scoot on the floor? I didn't want Scoot because I didn't want to relegate Lamelo to an off-ball role which is what I think would've needed to happen for Scoot to even slightly succeed. Just imo of course.

Modern nba I think you need more than one playmaker capable of initiating. Hopefully Miller can be that secondary initiator.

Bilal is the guy with the freakishly long arms and large hands for his size, he's going to be a terror on D

Surprised Washington took him

Agreed but that goes both ways, no? Miller is a great shooter, poor finisher around the rim but improved on that as the season went along tremendously. He wants to play defense as well.

I assume we all think Miller is a finished product and can only shoot? Not sure.

Yes both will improve, but when i look for improvement, i tend to go for younger players...

Scoot : 18
Miller : 20

Scooter had the advantage without having to put some muscle. Which Miller will have to do. And we putting some muscles can screw up your shooting form.

Scoot is 19, misrepresenting facts is not a good way to make a point.

Scoot is 19. Miller can put on muscle, sure. He's about 10 pounds off what PG was coming out of Fresno. He's not rail thin.

I kinda see this pick as our front office seeing Miles become that secondary playmaker. I for obvious reason have extreme reservations about Miles, so I hope I'm just reading it wrong.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

He's a capable passer for sure. Also think he was 2nd in the SEC in rebounding so that should help.

I think this team has broken quite a few of our longtime posters, and I don't blame them one bit. Me? I guess I'm a masochist

Every time I tune back in to this team it's a face palm. I just about fell out of my chair laughing when we brought Clifford back. Cheers.

I genuinely thought of you when we got Clifford back, I really wanted to see your reaction

When two guys get traded for each other after being drafted back-to-back they should have to meet and trade hats to formalize the deal.

Doug Branson from Locked On Hornets/Every Hornets Boxscore calls us the sickos.

And the sickos feed on the hope.

I think what I value most in Scoot is the type of stuff you usually either have or you don't. It's just his mentality and competitiveness.

Look at, I don't know, Garnett, Westbrook, Butler, Curry, Lillard, etc.

Then look at Zion, Davis, Brown, etc.

There's something to be said for having that killer instinct. Scoot has that. Miller absolutely does not.

Maybe Miller can still be successful in this league without it. A lot of guys are. But when you have a chance to get someone with that approach to the game, you shouldn't pass them up because they will just find ways to win regardless of what their limitations may be and their competitiveness will always uplift those around them into something greater.

There’s been a few long defensive French guards selected over the last few years, be interesting to see if Bilal goes better/more aggressive offensively than the others

I'm hoping we can dump Hayward, Rozier, Martin, or Richards here for the 10th pick

Return to Charlotte Hornets
