If Black can be considered to be ablt to play the 3 spot, how can you say Howard isnt big enough when pics show he is clearly bigger than Black?
1) considered by whom?
2) Black is clearly taller than Howard at 6'5.75". Not by much but he's taller. Howard is 6'5". He's a little bit taller than Bufkin, who measured 6'4.25" at the Combine and shorter than Black by a small bit. Puts him at 6'5" and a mile away from this 6'8" nonsense.
Anyway, there's nothing more.pointless than a height argument, so I'll leave it there, but he would make a very small SF. Imo, he needles to shed any bad weight/bulk and add mobility and focus on being a shooting guard.
1.) Considered by most scouts.
2.) While I too think he s only 6'8 if he somehow borrows Jameer's shoes, He is taller than Black. Black was OFFICIALLY measured at 6'5.75 so that's 6'7 in shoes at average.

If he can somehow be a smaller Michael Porter Jr. I will be okay with the pick.

I'd be hoping for Herro as an upside outcome.

I am yearning for the "Luke Kennard" outcome here.

Wow Simmons comparing Jett to Johnny Davis is quite the take.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

JD shot 42/30 and was a very high usage guy in his second year.. such a weird comp.
Honestly, this week is the annual "draft losers = team that disrupts consensus mock" with a bunch of fans saying how Jett was a reach but not realizing he was literally mocked around 11 all in Jan-Feb before his last 8 games of two twisted ankles. If you didn't like him before that, fair, but it's like, did an extremely small sample size of two weeks of games completely change your mind or was it the collective mock hivemind that made you dislike or like a prospect?

I really hope we make the playoffs because the mock draft hive mind in nba and nfl is something… I am so over it. I would doubt all but the draft writers don’t even have this context. It’s lazy and to speak it like you know it’s fact is something I will never understand. I really thought there was like 10 guys in that tier from 10-20 and he was comfortably in that. Some ways this Jett pick gives me confidence the FO is doing what they are suppose to do and doing there breakdown and picking their guy.
Also he is getting most of his information from KOC for draft and two of his favorite players were Bamba and Killian Hayes. I will do the work myself or look elsewhere.

I had Jett 6th on my board to you guys. Great pick at 11 even if casuals don't like it. I might have gone Gradey at 11 but only because I had Gradey #5 on my board.

Nice! What makes him a top 10 pick in your analysis?EvanZ wrote:I had Jett 6th on my board to you guys. Great pick at 11 even if casuals don't like it. I might have gone Gradey at 11 but only because I had Gradey #5 on my board.

I thought his offensive skill package at his size gives him one of the highest ceilings in the class. He actually reminds me of Booker on offense. Defense is a concern, but I think he has the tools to be "fine" eventually.
Here was my first impression back in December:

Re: The Jett Howard Thread
People always wonder how those 6'7+ prospects who can dribble, pass and shoot fall in the draft and then overachieve. Well we havent allowed one to slip. It was a toss between Gradey and Jett and i think Jett has more potential as a passer, 1 vs 1 creator and 1 vs 1 defender. We have no idea if Toronto also had Howard before Dick. Cason Wallace is good, but he would create even more logjam, maybe OKC jumped to prevent Dallas from trading him to someone else.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Rumor is we had a trade back deal with Toronto lined up (11 for 13 swap - they wanted Cason Wallace). OKC got word of it and made the deal with Dallas at 10 to block Toronto. Once that happened, our 11 for 13 swap fell through and we just took our guy at 11.
Of course its just a rumor so who knows if true.

That’s partially why people wanted Gradey as well.
We will see. Maybe Jett will be better.
Where was Bufkin in your ratings?

My question is... who would have leaked it? You know our reputation about secrecy and if TOR really wanted Wallace, they wouldn't leak it. Is there a RAT in the commish office?

I was lower on Bufkin than consensus, had him at 21 on draft night. Thought he got a bit too overhyped during the latter part of the process.
