I love my spot. Not too low to not be able to get a quality player, not too high to be pressured to f up my pick
I'm picking the "scraps"

Yeah. I mean tugs might like it but Collins won't be much better than in Atl.
If he's expecting to get a Markkanen type jump out of him he's **** delusional, there's too many mouths to feed and the Jazz don't have facilitators like Young or Murray.
Kind of move who doesn't help anyone fantasy wise, but makes it worse. Taylor Hendricks just became irrelevant, and both Markkanen and possibly even Kessler will be worse because of this move, there's fewer minutes to be had in the frontcourt and less touches.

Hey theoretically it could. I'm one of those, "can't shoot so efficiency might go up" crowd, plus all of those non scoring goodness. Not expecting rebounds to go up as well as stocks but hey, if Hardy intends to play Collins he'll find something useful for him.
Now if reality translates to fantasy remains to be seen. Clarkson has seen success as a playmaking combo with LA and he could have this tandem with Collins. Uptick in assists and efficiency are all I'm asking. Being realistic here that I won't be getting all star numbers

Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League - Year 10
Bull crap. Did Markkanen just die? He averaged 25.6 ppg last year.
The Jazz had nothing last year, that's why Markkanen thrived. Jazz have Markkanen this year, that's why Collins won't.
Markkanen still eats 1st and 2nd on this team. Wet dreaming about opportunistic scrub Clarkson and weak ass Collins getting a 1-2 punch on an NBA team is fallacy.
Clarkson might not even be around.
He had 13 a game last year. He's getting to his usual 16-17 ppg with crap anything else at best.

Lol I know, take it easy. 12 and 8 I'd take with a sprinkle of good %. Greg Monroe numbers I know but everything else should be bonus
Fck JC he'll re-sign! I don't want him in LA!
But man what if he goes home to Texas and be Pop's 6th man, no?

Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League - Year 10
Also, glad I traded those picks.
It's unbelievable how weak this draft is outside of the top 10. And even Cason Wallace at 10 is not a player I'd give up a pick for, he's pretty bad.
Maybe Lively is the only guy worth being drafted.
I'm not saying one or two couldn't be good in the future, but they're years and years away from being ready as fantasy dudes.

Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League - Year 10
Most Villanova guys have translated, that's the only thing going on for him. Then again, all have been developed for 3-4 years by that system, they weren't freshmen coming into the league.
He was not outstanding in college and the fact that he dropped from a potential 4th spot(there were plenty of outlets putting him around there) to 20, it means he tanked his workouts bad.
Eason will eat his lunch and dinner. He already had dinner with Ime btw, so it's pretty much over for everyone else.

So many players flameout because they go into awful situations. You really have to have the stars aligned like Kessler to get a decent opportunity.

Yeah. I'd argue most busts in NBA history have happened because of terrible coaching and under development, not because of the players.
Look at the Warriors for example. Kerr refused to play consistenly or develop all three of his lottery picks.
He literally had off the street bums like Ty Jerome or Anthony Lamb playing over Moody/Kuminga.
Wiseman has been sacrificed and the other two will probably follow his path.
At least the Warriors were stacked. But there are countless teams who play the "Age" and "contract" over the skill.
Because yeah, some 19-20-21 guys are actually BETTER basketball players than some 28-30 yr olds. I know it must be a shock to some of the FO's/coaches, but it's true.

It’s these coaches fault 100% of the time they want win now guys so they don’t get fired. Very few coaches can actually develop and win at the same time.

Like it’s just stupid. Why would you trade for Collins when you have Hendricks and why would you want Kuzma when you have Murray. Just idiotic stuff.

Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League - Year 10
Exactly. Hendricks is a prime example of a player who can be a bust stricly because he was ruined by the system.
Instead of getting around 25 mpg as a rookie and starting minutes possibly from year 2, and getting reps/exposure/confidence....he'll probably get 15-20 mpg for as long as John Collins is on that team. Not all young guys are Jermaine's O'Neal of the world. You stifle them for 3-4 years at the beginning of their career and most never recover.
John Collins isn't even a win now player. His presence on that roster won't mean ****, the Jazz will be exactly the same with or without him.
I'm just scared of Houston. You just know they'll be doing something extra dumb. If they sign Dillon Brooks I'm done with basketball, that guy is all flare and off court antics, his actual skill level is CBA level.

Re: Award Winning Lakers Board NBA Dynasty League - Year 10
You should've shoot your shot when I was dangling him just after the season was done during my intoxication period.
I was mad as **** he missed all of the fantasy playoffs, I would have legit traded his ass for anything decent back.
Now that I'm back to business, there's no **** way. This guy is eligible for the supermax this year, and needs to make an All NBA team to squeeze every ounce of money out of that contract....while needing to play in 65 games ofc, I just love the new rules, perfectly made for my team to get rid of the slackers.
You play, you get paid. Simple as that. No way that **** Carlisle will convince anyone not to play ever again, especially Hali.
Tbh, I'd be good if he just did an encore of last year, but there's no way.
If you remember last year, we did a stat prediction BEFORE the season started. I nailed Hali to a tee, I legit called a 20/4/10 season which he did. I said 1.8 spg and he got only 1.6 but all is forgiven.
He's getting 25/4/11 next season while being the first player in NBA history to get a 20/10 season and 50/40/90 shooting splits in the same year.
Remember this prediction.
