I understand picking up some veterans to support all that young talent on the team, But going all in for 2 players who will barely put them in the playoffs is horrible management..

Not to mention, it may stunt the growth of all the players that are going to the bench in favor of two players Who may make the chemistry issue even worse...

Seems like a bad move for rockets, but from a Celtics perspective, think the Raptors are a good Brogdon destination. They liked him last year and if they keep OG and Siakam, but lose FVV then they need a guard. Brogdon for Trent is a way to get a good 2 way wing and save some money. Then maybe you can trade kornet and some 2nds to get one of the Washington guards (Wright or Morris). After that you just need to decide on Grant, resign Blake and be active for veteran minimums.

Thad Young to be waive tomorrow (most likely). Solid vet minimum candidate for ring chasing vet if we lose Grant.

But who are they taking minutes from? KPJ isn’t really a point guard, Thompson isn’t going to be ready.. Brooks will take minutes from Tate, who’s a roleplayer, and maybe KMJ, who they want to move..

It’s not what I’d do but they’re going to be playing their young guys in more close games and less garbage time, FVV can run enough of an offense to show them the ropes - both guys should be moveable, or they’re a ready-made supporting cast if they find a win-now trade for a star.

FVV and Brooks are guards...Houston's starting guards are KPJ and Green..they will both lose PT...

Brad Stevens just needs to find a team to take on Brogdon and give him expirings to move to Washington for Morris and Wright. Wouldn’t be surprised if that was what he is working on right now

I’d throw in PP and a pick if a solid bench forward was coming back in that. Would be really solid depth.

I'm a little surprised it's so dead tonight. Thought maybe because it's the last day they can trade guys under the old 125% rule that there'd be more action. Guess it's all tomorrow.

They’ll trade someone, but..

FVV/KPJ
Green/Thompson
Brooks/KMJ
Jabari Smith/Eason
Sengun

It’s the back of the rotation minutes eaters who are going to get squeezed. On a lotto team those guys are never very good, or you can’t develop all of them. Who will think of Josh Christopher’s minutes…

We have a faux trade deadline 24 hours from now. We still got a full day of action but most deals may come before 6PM.

What bench forward? Morris and Wright are guards.

Someone post a “come on do something” meme so it can provoke some real action.

I know hot stove in baseball is great and all for those fans and NFL free agency is a big deal but imo the off the court drama the NBA has not just leading into free agency, but most definitely at the trade deadline and even draft day deals is the best in sports.

Maybe the report saying Brad is active in trade talks means Brad is trying to fleece somebody.

If that's the case then no deal gets done.

Brogdon to the Clips getting nixed is like Sean Elliott to Houston for Horry and Bullard in 94.

Houston ended up winning a chip that year and Horry was a big part of that.

Hopefully that happens to Brogs and the Cs in 2024.

Brogdon and Covington to the 6ers with a Boston 2nd.
Normal Powell and a 1st round pick from the clips to the Celtics
Harden to the clippers

Then you trade a couple 2nd for Monte Morris or Wright.

Brogdon to the Celtics and let's all get some sleep.

Return to Boston Celtics
