I don’t like going outside in summer either but at summer camp it’s not easy explaining to almost 20 4 year olds why they can’t go outside because of the weather and they look outside and say why not, it’s not raining.

God bless ya twirl, this is like nightmare fuel for me

I'm a pretty great guy.

I am going to Buenos Aires this fall and would have the opportunity to take some vacation time after my work is done. However, I feel a little apprehensive about doing so which I’m not sure if it’s anxiety or a normal feeling when traveling by yourself. Mostly worried about getting bored being by myself and not having anyone to lean on if something goes wrong. Any thoughts?

As someone who traveled alone frequently when I was younger, I loved it. Everything was on my time. Tired? Go back to the hotel. Want comfort food, go find a fast food place you want. Want to tour “boring” museums or places others might not like? Go for it. I’ve never been to Buenos Aires so I can’t speak to that. But traveling own and only having to worry about yourself is liberating. 100% take the opportunity to do extra time there, just be smart. Don’t go to questionable places and you’ll be fine. And try not to look like a sore thumb tourist.

Totally agree with this. I travelled alone really for the first time last fall when I went to England. Sure, small trips here and there, but nothing like international travel for two weeks. I had the same apprehension/anxiety, leading right up to the first couple days of the trip, and my partner kept trying to convince me I was going to love it.

And I did :D (for all the reasons j stated which I won't parrot).

So... assuming that Elon is a rational actor, why does he want to kill Twitter? Limiting engagement is overt sabotage. Who's going to buy ads on a site you can only use for 5 minutes a day?

Yeah it appears I can't view tweets right now. I'll probably just delete the app. I don't tweet or even reply but have been a user since it's early days for news and sports info. Seems dumb to chase peeps like me off the app. And there's zero chance I pay for it.

Same. Use it for breaking sports news but I can get it elsewhere. It's trash.

I use a third party app called Tweeten and it's always been immune to Musk's changes. Curious if that remains the same with these new changes.

I have to use Chrome mobile with that address but it's mostly fine.

On desktop Tweeten continues to be the perfect app.

So 600 a day is the limit unless you pay (never happen). I'll have to try an alternative

Yeah I've been puzzling over this for a bit. The reddit stuff I more understand (although it's personal awful for me with the death of RIF), because the game is cashing out on an IPO.

Update 5:04 p.m. ET: It appears Tweetdeck is getting hit with similar limits now, making the Tweetdeck workaround less practical. It does appear, however, that you can at least double the number of posts you can read in a given day by using multiple platforms. It’s all a confusing mess at this point.

I wonder if Elon's misunderstanding of what the product is, is more extreme than we realized. He's been a "the product is Twitter" guy, which is just exactly wrong, but if you push it all the way to the end, maybe you get a decision like, "if we limit people's access to the content, maybe they'll pay for the platform."

Welp I guess it's back to hoopshype like it's 2008 or something.

I love the idea of Elon making his last few sycophant employees work on Saturday, rate limiting the platform. While the lights flicker on and off, no coffee machines, and people pass out at their desks because they've been sleeping in the office for the last week.

The limit was bumped up not eliminated. I hit it again by reading some tweets for a few minutes
