This Dame situation could take months to play out....or it could happen tomorrow.
Gotta give Miami credit they offloaded those deals quick.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Re: Around The League 2022-2023 season
Austin Reaves got shortchanged in LA. Would have loved to have seen us throw a 4/80 deal at him to see if the Lakers would match. That may have required too much thinking from this FO though as they would have had to make additional moves.

What kind of framework works for us to get Herro or Simons?

Guy will put up nice stats and get crazy money. Pretty much mirror to Franz's future contract
As for money, no words. League will now create billionaires
This upcomong season, without Jones to cover for Ja's 25game detention as well as future screwups, he is gonna rely on Marcus Smart????
He is gonna get exposed. They will really regret that contract.
This says Desmond Bane averaged 22.1 points, 5.0 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 16 games without Ja Morant in 2022-23. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/desmond-bane-stats-without-ja-morant-this-season
One of the best shooters in the league, one of the best two way perimeter guys, fits on any team, only 25 - people are going to freak out over every second contract young players get in the new CBA haha
Does he get Curry level separation for his 3 pt shot? T.Jones is soooo underrated. Even at Duke he was the glue that held that team together. He should be a starter and now in WAS he probably can show it. With him and Ja not there, I am curious to see how Bane reacts to the defense their opponents give them. For sure, the defense won't concentrate on Marcus Smart in the perimeter.

Ja is only suspended 25 games, ya know?
I think Bane and the Grizzlies will both be fine.

Yes.. 25 games ( FOR NOW ) Somehow something tells me that ain't the final number for the 23-24 season.lol
But even so...25 games to show everyone what he can do as a MAX player. Personally, Im not too optimistic. I could be wrong again though and he would blossom even more.

If Dame gone, they need a "vet" PG to play alongside Simons and Sharpe will guiding Scoot as a backup. That is why I don't think they want Herro.
Call me crazy but I think they would demand Bam and POR gives them Grant back lol

Adding Derrick Rose and Smart will certainly bolster them while Ja sits

Yeahhhh.....no. I think Rose is even more cooked than Ingles. Like John Wall-level ( strange coincidence I used to have those 2 great PGs addidas shoes )
Smart they can use to cover for Dillon's defense but no way cover Ja's gravity.

Also... if you think our FO has questionable moves... you better not be a HOU fan right now.

Not only that.. but to a team that has Green , Amen , KPJ for the SG slot already.
So the big moves HOU did with their massive capspace is throw a ridiculous amount to FVV and Dillon for their starting backcourt?

Re: Around The League 2022-2023 season
Man I may be skeptical of our FO being too passive, but at least we're not the Rockets.
Weltman was talking up that "no shortcuts" strategy; the Rockets went "YES SHORTCUTS", even though it was a shortcut through a maze of thorny bushes. Sure, they may win some more in the short-term, but where the hell is this taking you, exactly? And the roster construction makes no sense, either. At least Kevin Porter Jr. looks to be out of the starting lineup and possibly out of the team.

Rockets traded Tyty Washington, Garuba and KJ martin for nothing.. I realize that we dont exactly need more young players, but I wouldve like to take a chance on atleast one of them.

A four-year deal for a guy who really cost his team because he was immature is a mistake. A two year deal with the second being a team option wouldn't have been that bad. I take our offseason over Houston so far. They were in such a really good looking spot a year ago, but now they are a mess moving forward.

Re: Around The League 2022-2023 season
An early takes on the play-in cluster?
I think Orlando remains firmly in that cluster. In its entirety I'd say it is comprised of the:
Play-in tier
Magic | Raptors | Bulls | Nets | Pacers | Hornets | Hawks | Knicks
8 teams fighting for five spots. I'll be very proud if the Magic make the play-in. I give us an edge over the Hornets and Nets. Raptors seem weaker with the loss of FVV but they are young enough to benefit from organic growth. Bulls have a poorly constructed roster but Vooch, Lavine, and DeRozan are always dangerous. Pacers with Haliburton are right there with the Hawks and Knicks imo, teams that have clear star power and some decent roster construction around them. We are very dependent on Paolo getting more efficient, Franz increasing his usage, and Mosley instilling an identity. I think the Knicks are still the favorites to jump into the top 6, but I don't consider anyone in this tier a contender.
I guess that leaves the:
Tanker tier
Pistons | Wizards
Contender tier
Heat | Cavs | 76'ers | Bucks | Celtics

Sixers are in a tough spot right now and things might blow up over there.

If Heat doesn't land Dame... you can put them in the tanker tier. 76ers... I dunno whats going on there but does it sound like they are imploding? Harden soon to be gone, Tobes showing displeasure... they could also be in the tanker tier
