It looks like they will wait for Dame to change his mind and increase the possible destinations just to get out of Portland.

Cronin is just saying whatever right now to increase leverage, dude doesn’t mean anything he says

If Herro does end up getting traded for just 1 first, whoever that team is, they're getting a great player for that value and I hope their fans realize that. He's worth at least 2 first.

Ok so outside of our own bias this is actually not looking good for us. So here me out, the less this becomes organically from Portland to Miami the less chance we have to get Lillard. The deeper him and his agent dig their heels into the ground and play forceful operations against the league the bigger the chance that the league turns around and decides to make an example out of this situation by making sure it is not successful.

Again I caution everyone to take a step back, and realize that the less this is organically done, through the correct process and not by an Agent/Player holding his FO hostage, the greater the chance we have of failing to get him. The league has been moving mountain in the CBA the last couple of years to make sure these things don't happen. There are owners whom hate the Heat because we are a free agent destination, and the more source this becomes I think it actually lessens our opportunity. I think it needed to happen with him calling us out from day one, but the constant push I am seeing in twitter verse from the Agent is not helping us at all to be honest.

This could seriously back fire tremendously, and I wouldn't put it past it to see a WOJ tweet in the next couple days with Damian heading to team not of his choice nobody saw coming.

To be honest, what seems such a blatant negative reaction against the Miami organization in this acquisition, can absolutely see this happening. Add more time, am certain that it will.

Heels are digging in and flags are being planted.

All Portland has to do is just play the long game, basically a week before training camp starts you come at Lillard, and be like listen Miami doesn't have the assets were not sending you there, Camp starts in a couple of days. You either play with your team, or option 2 we have this team here, who is willing to pay great value that we would accept, and your on a plane heading there tomorrow morning, what do you want to do Lillard? chances are hell be like ok bet, send me there I tried everything to get to Miami, but if its stay here or go to this other team that wants me, lets pull the trigger.

Could just be Portland trying to make a last ditch effort to extract more pieces out of us. I’m checking out for a few hours hopefully he’s in a Heat jersey when I come back.

Everyone freaking out would be fair if there was no avenue for Miami to put together a formidable trade offer but that's not the case. The HEAT can give them plenty of assets, it just wouldn't be through a 1 for 1 type deal. Other teams will get looped in.

Again, when the moratorium lifts this afternoon, just watch for which trades DONT become official right away and you'll have a hint of who might be involved in the multi-team deal.

Nah, your selling the guys in here short with that take. There isn't a higher power moving secretly in the background moving chest pieces to make this trade disappear come on now.
However I think people look around the league, look at the CBA, look at past trades, read what is coming out of owners, sport analyst, Portland's FO, and people are very capable of putting 2 and 2 together. This isn't brain surgery, there two opposing views at the moment. What Lillard thinks he can do and what Portland's FO think it can do, one of them thinks they have all the leverage but its actually the other one, which is what I caution people on.
