I agree. Send Portland Bam, Jimmy, Tyler, JJJ, and Jovic. Plus all our picks. We need to make this right for Portland.

So basically, as time goes on he's putting Lillard in more of a situation to burn the franchise down, to start leaking what the franchise told him about team building, mention the franchise lying to him (if they indeed did lie to him as it's been reported) and why he's wanting out and away from this franchise now.

Agree that it’s getting toxic but apparently Cronin doesn’t care about burning bridges and making a scene

This is getting very annoying

Portland doesn’t deserve lillard

Sign Goran. Go into the season with:

Lowry/Dru Smith/*Goran
Herro/Jrich
Jimmy/Caleb/*Robinson/JJJ/Cain
Jovic/Love/*JJJ/*Cain
Bam/Bryant/*Orlando

* means they can be swapped into a higher minutes role if need be

TBH, I'd rather give up Triple J if we have to give up a youngin. I think Jovic will end up being highly valuable. And I laugh at these FOs thinking "Because Minnesota is (Please Use More Appropriate Word), now if you want to do a trade with me, then you have to lower yourself to their mental acuity and do the same stupid ****. It is only fair that I get to stick my whole hand all the way up to the elbow up your ass too"

And yet the only reason they are in here is because they find trades "Too rich for their blood"

Lol “weak offer”.. the entire media doesn’t want him in Miami and its seems Cronin is going to do everything he can to send Dame somewhere else. Or make Lillard lose money by not trading him away and not show up to training camp.
I wonder if we gonna pull the offer and tell this bold M* to go to hell.
He is so annoying.

Yup I think people are downplaying the threat of Dame getting in front of the media angry if this goes into training camp. It won't be the first game of chicken that Cronin plays with Dame. Let's see

I mentioned Terrence Ross as someone who could potentially serve a similar role.

Even if he's on the minimum, where's he going to get minutes at? Right now I'd expect... Butler, Bam, Martin, Richardson and whoever the PG is getting way more minutes than him which leaves him to battle for minutes from JJJ, Highsmith, Cain and whoever else they bring in. I'll will happily move forward with a better defense and a more diverse offense vs running Robinson around with his gravity.

The offense just hasn't been better with Robinson on the court for a major portion of the last 3 seasons, but the defense is worse with him on the court the whole time.

Here's a better way of putting it, I would LOVE to watch Miami play every team this year with Robinson on the court for the other team playing a decent number of minutes.

It may be time to make a Lillard version.

I wouldn't be for this route if the FO was still trying to build around Lillard or they hadn't told him they'd continue to build around him before he signed his extension, but it's reported that they did, and Cronin explained the drafted players in a way where he said he was looking for upgrades but couldn't/didn't find them for the draft picks. Seems odd that other GMs are able to do this by packaging picks or even dropping down in the draft to add more meaningful players, but Cronin couldn't (more likely just didn't). I think Lillard should come out publicly why he wants to leave Portland, tell the public what he was told and just since it's Lillard, Grant and Nurkic with a bunch of young players, jack as many shots as he can to try to carry this team to the playoffs if they don't trade him. No more taking games off to allow the team to tank.

If you're good with him just being an asset for Portland fine, they can trade him wherever they want, just don't be surprised if he decides to quit playing team ball and makes it all about himself at this point in his career, loyalty should be out the door for Lillard at this point, he's just an asset and with that, will do what's best for himself for whoever he plays for.

While DM, Tatum, and Fox expire a season sooner making it nearly impossible to bring them to play with Bam after the Dame/Butler years… Luka on the other hand has the same contract structure as Dame… a player option the same season 26/27… which is around when money finally opens up for us :o

The plan:
- Trade for Dame, and retain as much tradeable assets as possible
- Bring back Dragic for the next few seasons
- Sign other players to contracts ending the same time as Dame(not more)
- Give Butler a one year inflated deal after his expires to play out Dame’s last season(but also gives us more expiring $$ for summer 2027)
- Start hunting Dame’s last season (can send Dame out like Lowry this season, as an expiring, or let him expire and throw money at Luka, SGA, etc. the following season)

It would help if Pat is truly able to hold onto some assets today during the Dame trade in case someone like Luka decides to demand a trade during his option year or even SGA during his last year, when we have a good chunk of money, but not quite enough… thus needing trade capital.

Cronin was unmotivated to improve the Blazers and keep Dame too.

I don't expect all of the players you reference still being on the roster after a Dame trade. If they are, that's great!

Realistically, I think one of Martin or Highsmith (now on a guaranteed contract that can be salary going out) will be on the way out. I think if both Martin and Highsmith remain, then that really diminishes the potential role for Cain next season. IDK if JJJ will make it into the trade.

I think J Rich will be primarily a SG with some minutes as a backup PG and some flex minutes as a SF.

I think there are def minutes to be had with Strus and Herro both gone (J-Rich in). I'm excited to start having clarity on that and have this board get into projections and discussions on that.

Again, I don't bat an eye if Duncan is gone with a Dame trade. I'm celebrating getting off the contract. But, we do get a little sparse on wing 3-point shooting in that scenario (Strus, Herro and Duncan all gone).

Dame about to begin to complain about injuries left and right… collect his checks… and watch you see your big asset tank on the trade market further because you were too stubborn… you want rot… Dame will rot your franchise from the inside!

This Lillard situation is really hitting me differently even if he were only had a list of one with a different team. I get he has a contract, but Portland was able to leverage Lillard's loyalty to make some big changes in their team during his career without having to worry about Lillard asking out or becoming a problem. Portland learned from Aldridge leaving in 2015 about doing whatever it took to retain a star asset and that's what they did with little remorse of wasting Lillard's last prime years or ignoring how loyal he had been to the franchise.
