They said the same thing about the Brooklyn team he was on, that he wouldnt have to put on as many minutes. He still missed a ton of games in each season. Hes also going to be 35 years old on opening night so I just have a hard time believing he can give them 60+ games at a high level

I would expect the same from Beal. Both will likely miss a lot of games. Booker is going to have to carry this team without a true PG (which I don’t believe he can do).

Or any noteworthy defense.

OMax’s handles and driving is much better than a Reggie Bullock or DFS.

The rim pressure that Green and OMax can apply will be a nice dimension to our offense. OMax really only needs to hit 35ish percent from 3, play great defense, attack and draw fouls.

Lively got called for a travel on a nice little hook and it was definitely not a travel.

OMax and and Lively will get minutes with how good they are on defense.

Today is the best team performance overall. Sad to say this, but the team actually plays better without Hardy. Lively II need to touch the ball more in the offensive side. Defensively, he should box out better for protect the defensive rebound better. With his physical tools, it should be automatic double double nightly if he has played the starter minutes.

Lively still looks raw but with good coaching has a ton of potential to be a solid center.
Seemed to be out of position a lot on rebounds.

OMax looks like he has the potential to be a pretty damn good wing for us.
Reminds me a little bit of Aminu but with better handles and not near the rebounder.
I love his game and he could very easily become a fan favorite.

Agree.
Hardy was awful. He needs to come back down to earth. He has talent but that super star mindset is not good for him now.

OMax and AJ played good plus or less all games... They deserve a roster spot for sure and some try in RS.

DLII needs time.
We need to be patient, he has all the tools.
I don't see him crack the rotation this year. Unfortunately.

Yeah putting Miles and Jelly in the creator role helps the offense cause they have less pressure on them and are better natural passers where as Hardy is better off ball.

Luka and Kyrie will get Lively more involved. Kyrie loves a short pick and roll with his centers and Lively’s skills as a connective passer will be more on display with him. Lively will get his touches with 2 of the top 5 point guards in the league.

OMax is good about clearing out one of the bigs with his box outs. Rebounding is a team effort. You’re right about Lively needing to be more consistent about boxing out.

Does Omax look similar to Josh Howard at the same stage?

No, bigger, stronger, taller. Better rebounder. Not the same ball handler Josh was. Only similarities I could see are defense and cutting.

Imo more of a 3/4 type and Josh was more of a 2/3 type.

I have to say that Omax has really impressed me. If he can get better in shooting, he will be extremely valuable for Mavs.

Omax looks like a steal at #25 pick. He's nothing like DFS. He's more advanced in all aspects.

If he can translate that into real NBA play it'll be crazy that they traded us Holmes and him for cap relief.

Since Nico promised he'll draft him, I do still believe Omax was the actual intended primary pick lol. He's incredible on defense, doesn't quit on any play and is not afraid to play offense as well. DFS needed a lot of time to develop, i think this guy will get there much faster. I'm actually excited to see him play with main lineups.

Actually, Lively has made some adjustments. Lively has only 2 fouls the whole game. The difference is scrambling on defensive and rebounding positions with moderate success. Therefore, Lively needs not jump every time. While it's not necessarily good, Lively does avoid foul trouble or running out of gas early. I hope Lively could watch the film and analyze when to jump and when not to jump. I think Lively could protect the rim and rebound better in those possessions opponents are very close to baskets or do not have significant size or positioning advantages. With the lack of upper body strength, Lively is better off to stretch arms and expand the body. In case, position is not completely taken, Lively can learn from Chandler how to punch the rebound to teammates. Against smaller players, Lively should have hold the ball high grabbing offensive boards and put the ball right back. Overall, think more thoroughly on how to make good use of length.

In the meantime, strengthen the body and improve the quickness, reaction time and stamina.

One thing I want to note is the inconsistency in shooting. Lively is not in same mechanics shooting the ball, including free throws.
Sometimes, the ball is not coming off fingers but waist. The ball and the waist should have some space. The arc of shooting is determined by the three fingers in the middle. The major power source should come from the legs, not from the shoulder or forearm. Hopefully, Dirk is willing to work with Lively.

OMax exceeds expectations. OMax is far more crafty with the handle. With a nice first step, once OMax blows by defenders,. OMax accelerates and stretches the arms towards the basket, the whole upper body with creates a buffer or shield to avoid short blocking. That's good use of size advantage. I think both Lively and Green could learn better use of length advantages.
