There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Powell doesn't fit Morey's description.

Yea, let’s trade the MVP and start this dumpster fire over.
I'm surprised this hasn't been quoted yet... only alluded to...
This franchise embraced "the process", and now 40 years without a title at this stage while suffering "the process" in order to avoid going back to being the current version of the Pistons, Orlando, Spurs.
So yea let's trade the MVP, but instead of doing that and starting this dumpster fire over again, lets eventually become the perianal current version of the Pistons, Orlando, Spurs for another 40 years by keeping the MVP until complete failure takes place. Then this franchise can be the GOAT of having the most MVPs to play without ever winning a title... that's now 4 out of 8 MVPs, HALF OF ALL MVPS EVER TO PLAY IN THE NBA WITHOUT A RING WEARING A 76ERS JERSEY.
The pressure is and has always been on a POS franchise and a city running out of scapegoats from top to bottom.
Maybe my reading comprehension is a little off, but are you refuting my point? And is the rebuttal that it’s an embarrassment we’ve had players win the MVP but couldn’t bring home the championship?
You know the Nuggets had a guy win the MVP twice recently with zero titles to show for it. The Mavs had a guy who won the MVP and he didn’t win it all that year. Eventually both Jokic and Dirk won it. As Embiid said, “it’s hard winning it all”. Gotta get the pieces right and they all have to show up for the playoffs. But you absolutely cannot win it all without a superstar. Trading Embiid and waiting for the next superstar is never guaranteed. You might end up with a bunch of Randle’s, Barrett’s, and Brunson’s, but never enough to be a serious contender.
Yeah sorry I didn't disagree with anything you said I was just venting. Don't think I've ever been so close to being done with this team in my whole life.

How many times was he injured? How many times was Ben and Harden **** up. You know they're is nuance to this. How many times did Doc and Brett **** up?76ciology wrote:

Morey says that the Harden deal was the “only one available.”
I'm inclined to believe this. I think we underestimate how low Ben's value was at the time.
Having said that, it's possible that a Haliburton trade wasn't available because Morey was asking for way too much in addition. I don't believe that a 1-for-1 (plus filler) was ever offered.

Only an idiot would think some of these are interesting. His stats are worse in the playoffs than the regular season? Wow, no ****. By definition, players only play against playoff teams in the playoffs. In the regular reason they get to play against the Charlotte Hornets.
The state of basketball commentary on the internet is at an all time low.

Yea, I know, just letting everyone know how bleak I see the situation. The real gem would be Brandon Ingram since he plays "on and off ball" but I haven't seen any rumors about him.

Not a legit source. They posted the Clippers offer a couple days ago and it didn't make sense salary wise.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
My guess is a trade happens at the beginning of August when rookies are eligible to be traded, like Kobe Brown (30 days after signing they are eligible.
Something realistic I could see would be a three way with the Bulls that sends us DeRozan, Harden to Clips, Bulls get Kobe Brown, Terence Mann, Bones Hyland, either Marcus Morris or Norman Powell (depending on what they want to achieve next year).
Kinda sell off Harden for a lesser player in DeRozan, but he'll be easier to work with for a year. If it blows us, then Morey gets to keep that cap flexibility he referred to today by letting DeRozan go off into the sunset.

Can't wait for us to sign Kawhi next year....and then he doesn't play a game for us because of his knee.
Fraudster Morey is delusional.

I would trade everyone but Maxey, Embiid, Melton, Springer, Reed, picks swaps for Kawhi RN.
Worth the risk.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
If his plan is to clear up cap space for next year, it's a good plan. Probably the right plan at this point.
And yes people will counter with "They won't be able to sign any stars" but again, that cap room can be used for other things. To facilitate trades and load up on draft capital.
If you look at what Morey said today "We either want a star player.... or picks that can turn into a star player" looks to me loading up on picks is at the forefront of his mind. I think he's probably annoyed that he hasn't been able to big game hunt on the trade market for a while and wants to change that starting next summer.

Morey basically confirming the "pause year." Very happy about that.
Finally, no more short-term, thirsty and desperate thinking.

I have a lack of imagination. Could you give me an example of what that might look like in practice? Make as many assumptions as you'd like.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
The biggest shocker to me honestly is that if next season is indeed a pause year, that Nick Nurse took the job. Doesn't give off the vibes of a guy who's cool with punting on seasons. Especially his very first year with a new team. Especially if jobs like the Bucks or Suns were on the table.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
Sounds like Morey's thinking is that due to the new CBA, teams won't be giving their own free agents the max contract or they will make other players on big contracts available in trade.
I'll believe it when I see it.
