IMHO Fred is the best player but the depth would be improved.

I mean yeah 2-1 is always better, but I haven't seen anything from Ayo in my limited viewing experience that excites me. He had a down year across the board for a team that needed PG play with Ball out all year. That regression from deep (37.1% > 31.2%) for a team that ranked dead last in 3PM & 3PA is concerning when as a team we are in a similar boat with putrid floor spacing. That said, his finishing ability at 67.9% at the rim with his 6'5 frame would be night and day from what we saw from Fred last year and likewise Schroeder.

The fact that we didn’t even give him a camp deal with 50k guaranteed and later converted him to a two way means that it is understood he has no shot at the main roster right now. Long term g leaguer on two way for now.

I expect Dowtin will be brought back as well to round out the 3 - the Raptors extended QO's to both him and RHJ.

Say what? Giving RHJ a 2way slot means he's already on the roster and has a bigger shot of sticking than the camp deals at 50k. Those players are for sure slated for the 905's and the 50k is simply a top up of their 40k salary. RHJ will make 500k this way.

my understanding is you can get the 50k(maybe more in the new cba), a shot at the main roster and then still get coverted to the two way later if you don’t make the club, meaning 50k on top of the 500k. I might be confusing different contract types, I now realize.

Oh I totally get that and I mess this stuff up all the time lol, usually I've had DanH correct me.

In this case, the camp invite is a chance to get a salary top up for a stint in the G-League - and is a very long shot to actually make the roster (though it has happened). Being given a 2way now, assures the chance to play with the Raptors and spend time developing with the 905 - less of a very long shot to make the 15 man roster. There is a chance Dowtin doesn't get that 3rd, 2way spot though, as he could be given the last roster spot with the Raptors - the team does need another guard and he would fit the bill; and an added boon, he has some chemistry with the players.

Of course, that last roster could be for a trade for multiple players coming back - I hope anyways

Harper Jr had a promising first year in the g league. He's definitely worth a second look.
