Dennis and Ayo vs. Fred
IMHO Fred is the best player but the depth would be improved.
I mean yeah 2-1 is always better, but I haven't seen anything from Ayo in my limited viewing experience that excites me. He had a down year across the board for a team that needed PG play with Ball out all year. That regression from deep (37.1% > 31.2%) for a team that ranked dead last in 3PM & 3PA is concerning when as a team we are in a similar boat with putrid floor spacing. Dennis isn't helping in that department either.
That said, his finishing ability at 67.9% at the rim with his 6'5 frame would be night and day from what we saw from Fred last year and likewise Schroeder.

“Everything has been in a bit of a holding pattern because of (James Harden’s) trade request. We can’t sign a bunch of guys, then do a 3-for-1 trade and not have the roster spots. But we added Patrick Beverley and Mo Bamba. We needed more depth at those spots no matter what, and those guys will help us this season, no matter what direction the roster takes.”
“Long-term, it’s about Joel (Embiid) and Tyrese (Maxey). Those two are as good of a starting point as anyone has in the entire NBA. Add a ton of cap and roster flexibility, and you’ve got something most teams would kill for.”
“Offseason remarks aside, we love Tobias Harris and he knows that. He’s a really good player and a big part of everything we’ve been over the last several years. Nothing has changed about the way we feel about him.”

The fact that we didn’t even give him a camp deal with 50k guaranteed and later converted him to a two way means that it is understood he has no shot at the main roster right now. Long term g leaguer on two way for now.

I think he has one more year of eligibility for two ways. But he probably get a camp invite and a 50k guarantee with possibly of conversion later.

The Raptors extended him a QO, this is probably his last chance to actually stick. And he'll make 5x's the money signing a 2way.

my understanding is you can get the 50k(maybe more in the new cba), a shot at the main roster and then still get coverted to the two way later if you don’t make the club, meaning 50k on top of the 500k. I might be confusing different contract types, I now realize.
