PoE2 looks amazing but it'll be a full time job to remember everything.

Anyone play any MMOs? If yes, which do you play and enjoy?

FFXIV, It's much better than current WoW, BDO, Lost Ark, New World, etc.
I don't have a ton of experience with The Old Republic or Elder Scrolls Online

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

FFXIV. Spectacular story.

There's some shader mods that make the game look 10x better too. Highly recommend looking into it

I begrudgingly resubbed to WoW classic with friends. I don't enjoy it anymore, just want to play something with my boys.

I like classic WoW, but its not as good as modern 14.

All my life. Used to play MUDs as a wee lad then went to UO, EverQuest, Asheron's Call, etc. etc. For current MMOs, it really depends on what you're looking for. FFXIV does storytelling the best but I think WoW still beats it in terms of dungeons and raiding. GW2 is also pretty decent.

Biggest problem with wow is the gatekeeping. WoW is a generally unfriendly to noobs. I think the experience in FFXIV just as a newcomer is night and day as far as the community. I can count on one hand the amount of negative raid experiences I've had in solo queues as compared to the amount of times I've seen people kicked from raids in wow.

I heard they’re doing some graphics update/model overhaul in the Dawntrail expansion they announced today.

yeah its supposed to be pretty significant. They've been talking about it for over a year iirc.

I lost interest around Cataclysm, WotLK was my peak. Played a little MoP but never touched it since. A friend tells me regularly I should go play modern as the QoL improvements have made it better but I just don’t know if I’m ready for a whole new set of things to learn haha.
Tbh, all I want is Starfield.

I was just bummed the demo is so far away. Still, the next league looks sick for regular PoE.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
Looked a little up on PoE2…it looks pretty slick. Anyone know if they’ll have a proper character creator in this one? I always just wanted a little more options so I can feel a slightly distinguished from other players.

This is true. While I think it has better PVE gameplay the community is much more min/max and there are people who will kick you out of groups if your damage isn't high enough. If you stick to the easiest difficulties you probably won't run into it that much, though. The only other thing I'd warn people of with FFXIV is while they do a much better job of storytelling, we're talking about literally over 100 hours of cutscenes at this point from the first expansion to the last. All high quality, but it's a lot. Some people might not realize just how much story they're going to be getting.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
My biggest problems with WoW were (1) the sheer time commitment required to engage in high end content (2) lack of real build diversity (3) the subscription. My coworker was into mythic raiding and it sounded like a part time job. I came to the conclusion that I'm simply too much of a casual for ol WoW. So I tried Final Fantasy and ESO but the combat systems in both games were so dull I couldn't get into them. But I am a bit biased. I've played GW2 off and on for years and to me no other MMO comes close to it in terms of the combat/build system.

Re: OT: Video Games/Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos
I love that POE has had 8 people working on patches/maintenance/updates for POE1 for the last year. While small Indie Company Blizzard created a game that was abandoned by 70% of the playerbase before season 1 started.

I really, really hate the mini-map in Remnant. The biomes themselves aren't what I'd consider good either. But I'm having fun because I'm very much enjoying the action. Up to level eight and I'm looking forward to making my build more interesting once I unlock more archtypes.
