This game of chicken is beyond lame at this point.
Morey and Harden hate each other and deserve each other at the same damn time.

Announcing here that I have zero respect for anyone concerned about Joel asking out.

And if he reports and acts out and derails the season, well the season was going to be derailed if they traded him to the clippers anyway so you might as well gamble that he reports in shape and plays well.
With Ben and Dame... these players still had/have multiple years left on their deal past the current. Those players maintain value. Harden is a guy you get one run with, so you should want maximum time to integrate him. And the less time you have, the less valuable he is.
The Sixers have an equal chance of winning a title with Harden as they do with Covington, Morris, Powell, and a 1st. The problem is Morey's math doesn't agree. That's the underlying problem. Some problems are not math equations to be solved.

Agree zero respect for Chicken Littling.
All reports coming out show Joel is in lockstep with Morey on the future plan, and is excited to pair with Maxey this year.
I bet he's realized, just like Harden, that they don't fit together well enough. Both are too ball dominant.

Please prove this is the offer on the table. We have no idea what LAC has offered.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
Reports have said the Clippers are not offering 1st rounders. The Clippers aren’t serious about this.
And this is all aside from the fact that letting Harden get his way sets a terrible precedent. You simply cannot allow players under contract demand trades to specific teams and get their way. It’s horrible for the league. Especially when those teams have crap offers. I’m glad Morey is holding firm.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
Morey was half in on Harden evidenced by the 1/1 contracts. I believe Morey made an offer he couldn’t complete. This team is stuck though, they lost some depth pieces and even if Harden balls out Embiid still has to be 100 percent and play better in the playoffs. Doc was part of it but it’s going to take Nurse half the year to get going as well. Unfortunately Harden is the worst star to have to trade as an expiring. He doesn’t seem to care about contract money anymore. Morey knows this though so this latest news break is just posturing.

I bet there was a second part to the handshake deal Morey made to Harden: If you get us to the Finals, we’ll pay up. Instead he played two good games against the Celtics and took an early vacation.

I wonder if Tobias is secretly loving this since he’s the one most likely to benefit from more touches & better stats in a contract year.

The Clippers are offering trash because Morey keeps coming back with the "give me everything" routine.
When you negotiate, it's hard to believe they wouldn't come to a similar middle ground.
Even if they traded him with no 1st involved, aren't they better off just being rid of the headache as opposed to trying to teach him a lesson or making an example for the league?

Tobias Harris will sign a 2 year, $40m extension and complete the full hero's journey.

Clippers are offering trash because they don’t really want him, they’re just in because he wants them.

They need him to contend IMO. Adding him could make them similar to the type of offense Brooklyn big 3 had. Plus they could better withstand load management.

We don't deserve this. This whole saga has been dragged out since the start of free agency. It's basically Simmons all over again and what a long summer/offseason that ended up being. If Harden has no intention of playing here again, then he can sit tight until we find a trade for him, but his value is going to depreciate the longer he sits out.

“Return” then “Call for adventure” is when he becomes tank commander for our rebuild.

James Harden is more like Julia Roberts in “My Best Friend’s Wedding”

My prediction is Harden will be great to start the season and will try convince teams that he prefers playing with that he’s worth it.

I hope you’re right but that would require James Harden to be a rational person. Everything we’ve seen/heard for the past 6 months tells us that he isn’t.
I think he’s at risk of losing the respect & trust of players around the league. He burned John Wall & Boogie Cousins on his way out of Houston but nobody cared because they were washed up. But if he burns Embiid, the reigning MVP & someone he’s friends with, I’m not sure how you can trust & compete alongside that guy.

I think that clip when he missed a bunch of 3s in China was the deal breaker

Harden's his own worst enemy. He has no power. I wouldn't let him ball out, unless he's able to play within an off ball system, though he's capable... He's unwilling. I'd bring him off the bench at this stage... If he's not going to be there the whole season or he's going to play the eratically. Why waste of training camp with him in the starting lineup, prepare your team
