To be honest, that's been happening for some time...

But yes, there were camps on this very board between the top-3 picks.

I was in Costa Rica and the TV in my hotel was almost all Spanish language, but Stumbled upon this game in English and of course Ant was a beast.

Amazing 18-0 run right when it looked like we were going to lose.

For those that complain about Jakarta weather, did you try to play basketball in Minneapolis this week? It's was too hot to even play golf :)

Phillippines giving KAT and the DR all they can handle. KAT is gonna have to step up probably to pull this one out.

KAT really pulled it together in the 4th. He was struggling early, including a really bad stretch in the second half where he racked up 2-3 fouls really fast in typical KAt fashion. One was a frustration foul right after another foul. That said, he got it together, went from being weak on the perimeter, disappearing on offense a bit to playing inside, and grabbing some big boards. He also got to the line a ton and killed with free throws.

Wasn't pretty but he was instrumental in his team getting an ugly win against a team who was playing hard.

Canada is currently up at the half in close game against Rudy and France. If Canada wins this will be huge. I think Canada has enough talent to win the whole thing, it will be a really big upset if they do and its not likely but Canada has been getting really good over the years. I really hope Wigigns and Murray show up for they Olympics, they could take gold.

I'm not a fan of Gobert being in the game with under 5 minutes left and France down 30.

Watched the second half of France/Canada, and I don’t want to make too many conclusions, as this was the best Canada will probably play and worst France will play. It just strikes me how limited Gobert is on the offensive end. Nothing new. Just not having seen him this offseason, you forget. It’s not going to happen; but if he could become a Brooke Lopez like shooter, it’d open up so much.

NAW looked solid. He was a very good Connelly grab in that trade. And SGA is so good. He is probably the best player in this tournament (although longterm, I take Ant over him).

Watched Towns this morning. As others noted, good stretches to the game mixed with some Towns-like not great moments. With Gobert, we need Towns to shoot 8+ threes per game. He is a great shooter. We need him to go back to that level of shooting attempts to space the floor.

He can't. He just doesn't have the touch. Lopez didn't start out as a 3pt shooter, but he's been an 80% FT shooter since his rookie year. And before he developed the 3, he was always a solid midrange shooter.

A few observations from the first day of the FIBA World Cup.
- Spagnolo is not close to being NBA ready. He struggled to handle ball pressure.
- KAT didn't seem like he had all that great a game and still put up 26 and 10. The international refs gave KAT a lot of calls when he drove to the basket, something the NBA refs too often don't. It makes me wonder if it's a lack of built-up bias against KAT or just the way the international games are called.
- NAW's defense and shooting are real, but his playmaking needs work. He often gets in trouble when he tries to make difficult passes in traffic.
- Gobert was fine, but France got smoked. One thing remains true, the only time Rudy should get the ball in the post is if he's close enough to dunk it.

If USA, France and the DR all advance to the Olympics, it might get the Wolves some credit with national reporters.

Not to mention Lopez was a decent post player with touch.
