I thought Al was on the Dominican Republic team?

I didn't see him in the box score for the team's first game. Second box score wasn't available yet.

Canada playing a million times better than they ever have since Nick Nurse is gone. Really makes you think.

Schröder is always good in FIBA. Those point guards that don't shoot very well are used to playing without much space and they seem to do better in FIBA play than those that rely on hitting a bunch of pull up threes. Kind of like how Ricky Rubio is just a guy in the NBA but can win MVPs in FIBA competitions.

Al didn't make the final roster (I assume it was his decision to rest up for the NBA season).

Is Israel playing? Curious if Yam is involved in this tourney and who he might be doing.

Madar isn't playing.

Happy for Latvia (without Porzingis and despite their captain Dairis Bertans missing the second half with an injury) and their historic win against France that means they qualify for the second round with a game to spare. But what an embarassing display by the French players. Tarpey was the only one to hustle, De Colo the only one able to run a set and Fournier the only one to make shots.

We looked out of balance, although the game was right there to take at the end.
I think one of our issues at a higher level is a lack of effective two way players.

Our best defenders are guys like Thybulle, Green, Exum...maybe Daniels.

We can't load up too many of them on court at once without our offence looking very constrained. And even when we do load up our defence, we seem a little too ready to switch on the perimeter, then very lacking in rim protection.

So Schroder was smart enough to get easy switches to a matchup he liked, then good enough to take advantage. He's legit fast, whereas we are more 'big' on the perimeter (Mills excluded) and he took advantage by beating his man, then enjoying the lack of a major shotblocker.

It didn't kill us, but it hurt, and he just looked too comfortable most of the game. I.think we needed to hound him harder for most of the game using a rotation of bigger, physical defenders, to try and steal his legs down the stretch. But who knows how that would have worked

Schroder especially seems to play much better for the German team than he plays in the NBA..

It'll be interesting to see how he fits on that Raptors team this season.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

This was one of the timeouts during France's game against Lebanon. At the end, Collet the head coach says: "Sylvain relax. Don't list to Elie, Elie doesn't want to play but don't be like him please."

5 days ago they were one of the favorites to win the whole thing. I want to know what happened in that locker room these last few days.

Settling in for the Boomers vs Slovenia.

Weird rumour that Giddey is going to get the defensive job on Luka. If that's true, I would use Patty Mills opponent to set screens if I was them, and drag Green to.the weakside corner.

Oh well...apart game time.
Excited for this one, must win for us!!
