Your team building is not perfect if you're starting those 3 players.

McKie was sixth man, remember? Snow made up for Iverson's defensive shortcomings in the backcourt and Hill started for defense and to rebound all of Iverson's misses.

So get guys who are good at offense and defense.

Your implication here is that the Iverson Sixers would have been worse if Eric Snow and Tyrone Hill weren't negative offensive players.

Those types are a little tough to get, no?
always a jump shot away.

I think the one missing piece with Iverson was always a star big man. KVH was too soft, Glenn Robinson was too old, Webber was too injured and beaten up. Elton Brand believe it or not had a stretch during his Clipper years where he was playing at an MVP level and I always thought that prime Elton Brand would have been the perfect compliment to Allen Iverson during the early-mid 2000s. Unfortunately, we were never able to match them together at the right time.

I do think what Larry Brown was able to do with not only Allen Iverson, but the cast around him was nothing short of remarkable. Eric Snow, Ty Hill, Mckie, George Lynch, DC, Matt Geiger, Ratliff, and then Mutombo were all really great role players to put around Iverson. I wish we would have held on to Raja Bell!!!! Brown had the right idea, but he was still missing another bona fide star to pair with him and that's what did us in against the Lakers. That and there was just nobody on the planet that was going to beat that Laker team at that time.

As a kid, I liked Iverson because he was cool and exciting.

As an adult, I would never want a player/person like Iverson on my team lol.

Glenn Robinson was for a season and it was his second to last stop before retirement

Mutombo was 1.5 seasons at 35 years old, lol.

Van Horn, one season

Chris Webber was 1.2 seasons and he was the whole shebang, injured and old af, declining game.

Going back through it, it's kinda funny the most talented teams with Iverson were the ones that didn't make the playoffs. 05-06 had Lou Williams, shell of Chris Webber, John Salmons (who was good for stretches of his career), Andre Iguodala, Kyle Korver, Samuel Dalembert, Willie Green. Mo Cheeks as coach probably didn't help. I also think Iverson's brain at that point was to shoot the ball 25 times a game and didn't want to relent on scoring.

Walking through the graveyard of Sixers season's past, it's just really clear that we have always been poorly managed.

I mean none of those players were in their prime like you said. Same problem that Embiid has now. Put Embiid with a player in their prime and they're a good team. He played well with Melo. It would be nice for once if the Sixers got an in prime 2nd star to pair with their MVP caliber player.

He said it was the perfect build around Iverson.
