it’s Grange so…this gotta be the confirmation that TOR got Dame, right??

Grange is like Smith, he doesn't have the slightest source, nothing. Whatever he may say, whether positive or negative, can't be taken into consideration.
Spears, Stein, Woj, they are all of the same opinion, in my opinion we are here, the odds are still fluctuating, let's see.

I believe, rightly, that the Blazers will accept the best offer, which is ours. And I also believe that Lillard will have no problem playing and winning for and with us.

Grange is just a hater masking as a "reporter". This dude should've just gone with Fred to Houston. We don't need this clown.

Portland doesn't want Herro, that's why they tried to trade him here...or anywhere else.

Totally ignore the insane numbers he put up last year huh?

We heading into the 2023-2024 season, though. You see where those numbers got Portland to in the standings?

Gotta be a 3-4 team trade where Herro is directed elsewhere. Miami ends up with Ayton, a blue chip prospect and a few picks. Not sure that trumps OG/Dick/Pick but they wanna do right by Dame. Lots of love between the two sides here.

I’m curious who that other team is; Portland, Phoenix, Miami and..Brooklyn? Does Harden end up in Phoenix?

My head hurts

I don't think the Heat can match the Raptors' offer. From what I've heard the Blazers want an established player in return in addition to picks/prospects. The Raptors have Anunoby. The Heat don't have anyone since they're not trading Martin and the Blazers aren't interested in Hero. I doubt a three-way is going to net the Blazers a player, it's more likely to be an expiring and a pick.

Honestly I don’t get why people think the Heat are such a sure contender. They were a great underdog story last year 8th seed to the finals. But Jimmy gets injured a lot and he is a heck of a player that had his run at the right time, but when they played the Nuggets it didn’t take much to break the confidence and momentum. I don’t think the Heat easily repeat what they did last year. Especially since they have lost key pieces that help you win. Guys like Vincent and Strus were like Powell and Fred when we won and they lost them. Jimmy also no spring chicken anymore.

The Celtics to me are still the tougher team to beat. I even think the Knicks are a better team.

Just watch, the Heat will be a decent team, but the won’t be roaring out of the gates.

The difference of Dame on the Heat versus the Raptors is the Heat would be a good team, but think they will lack the depth and have too much injury risk. The Raps with Lillard is a much more versatile team and will have a much better chance of containing teams that have strong front courts. Scottie, Pascal, Jakob is one of the better front courts in the league and will out match most other teams.

I think Siakam is better than 2019 Lowry, and Lillard could match Kawhi. Then the rest of the cast is great from Poeltl, Schroder, Trent, and OPJ. We have a lot of players that could be strong contributors to a championship run.

No Lillard cannot be Kawhi.

Kawhi literally took over the game at both ends of the floor. Most impressive is when he decided to take over game 6 vs Milwaukee, and punished them at both ends topping it off with a massive dunk and crown over Giannis. Lillard could NEVER do that.

Lillard is not Kawhi, 100% agree.

But this shouldn't be the mindset. The Kawhi trade was the perfect stars aligned situation. That kind of situation is unlikely to ever happen again. Star players are never traded for a price that low.

Will Lou had a great analogy, if you ate at a 3 michelin star restaurant and had the best meal of your life, would you never eat at another restaurant again because nothing else will compare to that meal?

That's certainly one way to look at it.

This is RealGM though. Avid fans aren't the diners, they're pseudo-head chefs perpetually seeking 3 stars. Why limit yourself to 1 when you believe you build to 3?

OakleyDokely wrote:I just don't understand how MIA thinks they can pivot and offer the same assets for better players like Giannis and Luka.

This is their chance to land a top 15 player by basically giving up only depth assets. Other organizations are better positioned to make much better offers for players like Giannis, Luka, Embiid if they come on the market.

Lillard is still great but his price is reduced due to salary/age reasons and MIA should take advantage of this quickly.

Riley is just saving face, if he gets beat to Lillard by another team.

doing the salary math on the heat trade

one of lowry/duncan robinson will have to be included.

cause herro, jovic, jaquez and martin still doesnt match lillard salary.

herro + lowry + others adds too much salary to blazers
herro + robinson + others, robinson has 1 extra year of contract

heat barely have enough for lillard, let alone incentivize them to take lowry/robinson or even dump them to a 3rd team.

herro+ 2 picks was part of the deal. That wasn't everything as that wouldn't be a possible trade.
