People love to give the FO credit for the Barnes pick, but bare in mind we were slated to draft 8th - we just got insanely lucky with the lottery balls.

Lets not forget our core through the winning years was actually brought in by Bryan Colangelo.

Just want to get trainign camp going now and the players focused

I dont expect a big resurgence year from us as in a top 4 seed , but I want competitive fun basketball with Scottie making a jump.

If we can get 6/7 seed while all our guys improving, that's a good season considering how we totally fumbled the bag the past two seasons

Good to see Lillard go to MIL and not MIA. Fair bit of dead weight salary moved, now just need to get Simons off my team.

TOR, you want some shooting?

Lopez / Giannis are more than enough to be a good defense. Bucks have struggled offensively in the half court in the past so this will greatly boost them up. How do you defend a Dame/Giannis pick and roll with 3 shooters around them?

We will see, Raps should try to get Jrue on the cheap. he's solid.

Jrue is not like Dame where you convince yourself he could be a game changer for us.

He is a 6'4" version of the 6'9" vision we seem to have (great defender, poor offensively) and does not fix any of our holes while being a guy who explicitly stated he is done in 2 years.

Unless for some reason you can get him for salary filler you don't trade for him.

Oh. They mused, did they? Well then.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

I'm happy they didn't trade for KD and Dame, but they've still done a piss poor job managing the team post-championship.

Scase wrote:With the deleted shams tweet, there is a bit more weight to the raps being part of a 4 team. No one will know for sure either way, but the Raptors having the fewest trades done in the last 3 years also lends a little weight to it as well.

All in all, as much as I criticize the FO I can't with confidence say no one wants to deal with them lol.

There IS some smoke there. Too many reports about them being difficult to deal with for it not to have some legs. And I don't buy into "the American media is making it up" narrative. That's some serious inferiority complex BS. Is it exaggerated like the media is prone to do? Probably, but there IS something there....

You know how we could have clearly beat the Bucks offer?

By trading Fred for that at last year's deadline and put it in the Same deal.

Sliding doors my friends... one of the worst trade deadlines we've ever had keeps on delivering.

I believe sidsid is referring to the Bucks FRP that was rumoured to be offered for Fred last trade deadline. If we had accepted that offer, then the Bucks would not have the FRP to trade today.

FO has treated Siakam terribly.

Got him a competent center several years after forcing him to play with the likes of the dead corpse of Gasol & Bonafide Bum Baynes.

Refused to get him another star player to take some of the pressure off him. Hence, why he remains one of the league leaders in double teams attracted.

Refused to get him a playmaker that can set him up.

Giannis complained and basically threatened the Bucks organization and the FO acted fast and got him Dame.
Siakam is too quiet for his own good.

Jrue was awful on offence. Dame definitely makes them much better. They'll still have an elite team defence around him.

I don't think that's quite accurate, he has a couple off games but he certainly wasn't awful.

I think it's less the luck of moving from 8 to 4, than it is the decision to draft Barnes when almost everyone had Suggs slotted at 4.

Griffin is going to get a chip here, if everyone's healthy. Do people not realize Jrue was a turd on offense in the playoffs for the Bucks? And they still won.

To clarify my post here:

Trade Fred at last season's deadline for that package.

This year the Bucks don't have those assets to put in the Dame trade, and we do.

Our lowball Trent offer has more disposable picks in it and the Bucks offer is hampered with pick inflexibility, knocking them out as a destination. Likely clearing the Heat offer too with minimal impact to our core.

If OG is off the table then what is the plan I wonder.

I am wondering if the ATL thing happens now or something.

Nah.

You can have Simons for that and expiring AFAIC.

Siakam can't hold a candle to Giannis. You don't swing for the fences to make a player of Siakams calibre happy, you trade them when they are unhappy. This is Giannis FFS man, get your head right lol
