There, I did another Pritchard/Kornet trade. What else has to be included for Sacto to not hang up.

I like Davion Mitchell as a Marcus/Jrue-lite.

Davion on Damian.

If they go big in the clutch with Lopez, we need Rob on the floor. If they go small with Giannis at center, Horford will be in his place. Sub in Brogdon for either for offense.

White/Brown/Tatum/Porzingis will end games for us no matter what.

No, we need his efficiency in the playoffs.

It's just weird. We were struggling in clutch offense with Smart and now people want Jrue, who's less efficient and was taking more ill-advised shots for the Bucks. Derrick White did better than Jrue against the Heat tbh.

It always seemed to me like he hits everything and kills us. I guess others must have similar anecdotal / observer bias for wanting him

It is weird. White is one of the better defenders out there, but he doesn't have the reputation that Smart does because it's not the overt, aggressive style of defense. White is fine, but he could use more help.

JB needs to earn his paycheck. Sweetest gig in the league for that guy. What are we paying him for? Be a true two-way wing.

I’ve always liked Jrue, but this slobbering for a 33-yo due $77M over the next two years is WILD

especially given that the Cs have Derrick White — but I forget that some Celtics fans still don’t know who that is.

Looking at the current roster, one might think, "JB. Now there's a guy who can really put the extra effort on the defensive end and give up some of his touches to Jayson and Porzingis". We'll see how that plays out.

As for Brown guarding the quicker point guards out there (like Lillard now), I don't really see it. I'm trying to recall the times where he did that last year and not getting much from the memory bank. I'd say he's ok on 2-3-4 but can't stay in front of most point guards.

JB already got the supermax.

He doesn't need to do anything except get fat and shoot a lot of 3s.

Kings like Davion too. They like him so much that they drafted him 9th pick overall, even though they already had Fox and Haliburton.

They would hang up the phone if we offered this..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

If I'm Philly do I give up Harden for Jrue? Probably not. I'd rather pair them together. Jrue/Maxey back court isn't doing much of anything.

JB's defense will def be improved this season. But he has become a touch slower since he bulked up. I wouldn't put him on points.

I could see the Clippers getting in on the Jrue act. Either as a 3rd team or trading for him outright. He would be better for them than Harden at the right price. Or perhaps some threeway focusing on Harden to Clips, pieces/picks to Blazers and Jrue and minor pieces to 6ers.

Edit: Apparently 'Kyle Neubeck' is talking about it too?

That is true. He's better guarding up than guarding down. Vague memory of him guarding guys like Griffin and Siakam in the past. I'd put him on Giannis instead if only to relieve Horford or have him as a roamer instead. White is still our primary Dame defender. Would also try Tatum on him at times.

I love Smart so, so much. The Comedian and I used to look in the mirror and try to argue who loves Smart more.

His greatest value on the defensive end was his versatility, and not fake versatility like Grant, Smart could legitimately defend 1-4, and the occasional 5, at a high level. His communication was also super important, obviously.

But it’s okay to say, over the last 3-4 years, he has struggled against quicker guards and top pull-up threats. White is the much better option against the Lillard’s of the world.

He disappeared Siakim in the bubble, as amazing to see

The Bucks will soon realize what a defensive liability Dame is.

A decade in Portland and it was always the same problem, the defense!

My prediction? Jrue to Philly. Harden to Clippers. Players and picks to Portland..

Beat you to it this time, but I do think it makes sense for all 3 teams.

Celtics traded Smart for a big to balance their roster. Now we're trying to trade a rotation guard PLUS another rotation big for a guard similar to Smart.

Make it make sense.
