If they stay healthy or can be healthy when it counts the offense of the starting unit might be like something Celtics fans haven’t seen since the 1980s and the defense since spring of last year.

SO HYPE RIGHT NOW
Paul Pierce appreciation society.

I don't like Bullock. A meh spot up shooter who doesn't do anything else well. He's a net negative.

I think they prob start Al (for the 58 games he plays) but count me in the out pile for Bullock as well. Seems like they are really moving away from these low-volume scorers unless they are prime athletic age. Thicker/old/slow skill guys that can play defense a bit but really limited on offense seem out of favor right now.

Agreed. I think Al starts.

Holiday/Brown/Tatum/Horford/Zinger
White/PP/Hauser/Brissett/Kornet
Banton/Svi/Walsh/Stevens/Gabriel

That’s how I see it shaking out. Though the big men depth will play a heck of a lot more since Al/KP are only playing 120 games total.

That team is LOADED honestly.

Only weak spot on paper is backup guard as not sure if pritchard and walsh are worthy of top 8or9 spot.

Walsh isn't a guard.

Pritchard was our 8th man when we made the 2022 NBA finals. He was only a 2nd year player then..now he;'s a year 4 player, so should be better now. He could certainly be a decent 8th/9th man.

Walsh is a wing. He can easily play at the sg spot.

Terrence Davis still out there? He was one of the guys mentioned along with Lamar and Svi. Not trying to be greedy, but if Pritchard is sticking with the team, the 3-D profile of Davis may be a better fit than Banton.

Rofl teams won’t be able to just switch everything and beat us now. Porzingis and Holiday will abuse that ****

Grant is gone. Rob is gone. This offseason has definitely cleared up all future confusion about which Williams is being talked about.

Playoff rotation of:

PG: Holiday (35), White (13)
SG: Bullock (20), White (22), Brown (6)
SF: Brown (30), Hauser (18)
PF: Tatum (38), Horford (10)
C: Porzingis (32), Horford (16)

I feel like White might be super marginalized in the starting 5 and starting him with Jrue might create a rotation log jam where you need to play another PG type, and those guys can tend to be liabilities height wise. Bullock is still playing a minor role in the rotation here, but starting him allows you to go with another wing like Hauser here over a Pritchard type size liability.

Mind boggling to me that there is a universe where Reggie Bullock is a starting two guard for the Boston Celtics.

He’s been a starting caliber player for playoff and playoff contending teams the last 3 years. And he’s still no more than the 7th man here. Can’t imagine anyone would have qualms with him signing here to be the 7th man - I imagine that would be lauded as a great move.

Eh, idk. Dallas didn't even make the play-in tournament last season. A team that was so bad they didn't make the play-in, yet Bullock only averaged 7 PPG, even though he was getting 30 minutes a game.

And on a team that struggled mightily on defense, a team that desperately needed guys who could defend, Bullock was 21st on the team (out of 23 guys who played for Dallas last season) in defensive rating.

If we sign him, fine. But If we don't, I'm not losing any sleep..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I don’t know why people think Joe is going to go from saying White is the starting PG so emphatically, knowing the strained relationship with Brogs, to telling the guy he’ll be 6th/7th man. Nah.

God that team is trash. Danny is great at bringing you out of the basement, but he could never deliver final touches on this Celtics squad.

Agree to disagree. He's closer to being a PF than he is a SG, imo. SF is of course his best position. But he's not quick enough to play the 2. Doesn't have the ball handling to play the 2 either. He's got a 7'2" wingspan.

Not that it matters that much. Positions are very fluid and interchangeable in the modern NBA. And Walsh probably won't play much this season anyways.
