- Total War Series ( Warhammer III, Medieval II, Shogun 2, Atilla)
- Crusader Kings III
- Civ series
- Star Wars Empire at War

Survival Games

- Deep Rock Galactic
- Rimworld
- Modded New Vegas
- Valheim
- Xcom 2

- Disco Elysium
- Kingdom Come Deliverance
- Mount and Blade Warband
- Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2

I'll add to this list in a bit, gotta head out for a bit, but im sure you'll get some other good suggestions in the meantime

I generally think most things are better on PC, and not that I play x game that's only available on PC.

As a Diablo 3 fan, you may want to check out Last Epoch. It's in Early Access, but it's 100% fully playable and has been for almost two years now. What they're still working on is online multiplayer enhancements, a couple classes, endgame, and bringing the older content up to their new content's standard. I haven't played in probably a year or so, but really a great game. No barrier to entry/encyclopedic-like knowledge needed like POE.

Thanks for the rec!

I've been meaning to go check out the Runemaster, which is a new class/specialty that just unlocked. But I mean, *gestures at backlog*.

This list is missing Cities Skylines. Easily one of my top PC games of all time. Also throwing in Valheim, Escape from Tarkov (hardcore shooter simulator you've been warned), World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm/League of Legends if you want to get real sweaty. Otherwise not much exists for PC exclusives anymore besides the games that are clearly needing M+KB.

We are about 3 weeks for Cities Skylines 2. Honestly is my most anticipated game of the year. I was so excited for Starfield but man I struggle hard getting into new singleplayer games with my limited time.

Enjoying Lies of P. It feels like a very solid first draft of a promising franchise.

Nothing from the reviews of AC Mirage make me think I need to play this, now or ever.

On the other side of it, I'm pretty excited for Mirage. Won't pick it up until there's a deep sale, as with any Ubisoft game, but I can appreciate a return to the AC roots. I don't care for the newer games - and only ever played Odyssey from that bunch - but the stealthy/assassination-focused origins of the game (not Origins, but origins :D ) were right up my alley.

My hope is that this is a bit of a proof of concept for them to see if it would be worthwhile spending resources on a bigger version of this style of AC game in the future. My fear is that it will do poorly and they won't put that effort in. Certainly doesn't help it's being released now of all times.

They have my attention, but I'll believe it when I see it in action. Solid start for rebuilding things.

https://www.pcgamer.com/diablo-4s-season-2-patch-fixes-almost-every-problem-ive-had-with-it-since-launch/

Starting on October 17, when the Season of Blood begins, your seasonal and non-seasonal characters will level up faster, have cleaner inventories, finish dungeons more easily, ride their mounts faster, and find better gear than in season 1. Just about everything that got in the way of jumping around Sanctuary and slaying demons has been smoothed out.

Interestingly, it also drops on Steam on October 17. It’s still weird that Blizzard games are going to be on there after so many years.

Read on Twitter

They weren't kidding about this being a smaller game. In the days of yore I'd consider this one a rental.

Watching a movie on the home theater main screen tonight. Very rarely do that. Got extremely sick of the surround sound being too loud and the dialogue being too low. Finally calibrated the receiver with the provided mic. Got familiar with the available output modes.

Doing this because Sony has come out with a new streaming service that promises 4K UHD quality and the video does look good, but my audio was all **** up. After all the setup and calibration it should be good to go, but now the left rear is pumping out the dialogue. Driving me crazy and I tried everything I could think of, no dice.

By now it's after 11 and I really need to go to sleep soon but I'm super annoyed. For the hell of it I try out the Xbox and the audio sounds **** beautiful. Somehow theater quality but not blow my ears out loud in the wrong channels. Try the Shield and same thing. I test a new movie I downloaded off a less than legal site, still sounds amazing.

I circle back to the PS5 one more time, only this time I try Prime and Netflix. Sounds perfect.

The problem is Sony's new service. I'm so annoyed that of course that was one I started with after calibrating everything.

ETA: LMAO and now all the testing between devices fried my HDMI cable I was using.

I was pretty astonished at the 4K Series X version when I picked it up a month or so ago, and that was only 30 FPS.

Picked Wo Long back up tonight. Haven't played it since it came out, never beat the first boss. Since LoP was so parry heavy I thought I'd give WL a second look. Laughed when I fired it up because I was gifted so LoP gear that's surprisingly effective.

Just biding time with whatever until Lords of the Fallen comes out.

"Sunshine" is the movie I fired up tonight now that I've got the settings to match the hardware for the first time in my adult life.

Folks, it was worth it.

I know a bunch of you played Final Fantasy 16 a few months back. I picked it up back in August and played a bit (got the green wind eidolon I think it was) but stopped and haven't jumped back in due to switching back to Zelda and the fact that Final Fantasy was literally one of the easiest games I've played...ever. It felt like choices/build/gear were completely irrelevant, I never even remotely came close to dying at any point. It's beautiful graphically and seemed to have a cool story/great cut scenes...but does it get more difficult or anything? Just hard to devote my gaming time to an interactive movie that is mindless button mashing. If it gets better I'll definitely delve back in at some point, but so many games have come out recently or are going to be releasing it's tough.
