I did not read Mazulla’s Kornet comments as indication that Horford would start. Just that the team’s main two bigs are Porzi and Al and just that Kornet is next up

Why do you doubt that he can ? Every season since 17-18 he has played between 60% and 97% of his minutes at center.
I only question if he can succeed as a single big with Tatum/Brown/White/JRue. We know Horford thrived in that role last year. KP usually played with another center like Gafford or a stouter PF like Morris, Klieber or Powell. Maybe Tatum being older and stronger can be that other big to support KP.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, last season with the Wizards he played 3/4th of his minutes with one of Kuzma, Rui or Deni at the 4 and the defense didn't suffer compared to their regular season numbers. In fact it was better than his minutes with either Gafford or Taj Gibson next to him.
If you are right, we have no depth concerns at all. Horford/KP center rotation is elite. Flexibility to play them together and stretch the floor better than any other double big combo in NBA is also elite. Filling in with Kornet, Brissett, Gabriel is more than enough assuming no injuries.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Poor DW, no extension, and back to the bench.
At least he has a helpful salary which can be easily traded.
Quite pathetic by Al if you ask me. Tell him he has to play back to backs then, no one wants a line up that chops & changes.

I can post the numbers/picture later if you want but I’m not guessing here. This is just what happened. I won’t pretend to have watched an insane amount of KP these last few years; just going off lineup data

Quickley looking for $100M/4 yrs. Meanwhile PP is getting paid Celtics merch from the gift store. He will be rewarded with a ring. He'll get his bag later.

Maybe wait until Al actually does something unprofessional before you call him pathetic?

I know that we wouldn’t now but just to be sure Pritchard can not be traded this season since he’s extended right?

He can; rookie extension don’t come with a trade limit like that. The only thing complicating a trade now is smth called the poison pill provision where he would still count as 4 mil outgoing for us (his current salary) and 6 mil for the other team (the difference between his current salary and next years).
It really doesn’t matter much for such small salaries but it has been a factor for other contracts in the past. But we can trade him now for a salary up to 6.6 mil; we would just have to involve a third team where we would trade a minimum deal to to offset the difference.

Cool thank you. I’m still looking at our options for a mid season move. Another question I had and trade checkers say yes thus far but wanted to be sure. Can the TPE be used for Otto Porter? He makes just a bit more but I think there’s a 100K buffer given? If so I think he’s someone the team should get soon and hope we can aggregate something later this year.

I think so but am less sure here. I hope wyc is willing to do but it might be a big ask to have wyc and co pay an extra 30 mil in lux tax just to carry a dude for a while.
I want them to do it but will not expect it.

By that same token we could still get under the second apron this year correct? I’ve read something that if we didn’t keep Svi/Banton and then signed 2 guys by end of year we would be under. Because of the vet min being prorated? Is this accurate.

Well the Sixers board sure doesn't seem very excited about the game lol. They don't even have a preseason game thread, and in general there's very little action over there compared to past seasons.
But there has been some discussion about how they should get Dame. And then Jrue. And now Brogdon haha.

I don’t think so; we’re currently 3 mil and some change over. It’s technically possible maybe if we go with 14 people, cut kornet and resign to a 1 year minimum prorated but I don’t see that happening.
Don’t wanna sound like too much not an expert here though since it’s all still new. Like jrue his unlikely incentives push us over the 2nd apron atm but I’m not sure what happens if they’re not met t the end of the season. So yeah sorry I couldn’t be of more help but I’d rather admit uncertainty than just bluster about

Nobody should ever take any “rumors” that Adam Jones says, seriously.
He’s a clown of the highest order, when he’s on the air. Off the air? Super nice guy actually lol.

I know this isn’t the right thread for this but i have been watching a lot of videos since the Jrue trade, from both sides of the argument.
All the videos ask how are we going to guard Giannis and Embiid. When is someone going to ask, how are Giannis and Embiid going to defend us?
They both will be out of the paint, opening up EVERYONE ELSE! Everybody who starts has shot around 37% from 3 before (jays been slipping)!! Sure put Embiid on Porzi or Al lmao!!!! Put Giannis on them!! Highway to heaven in be middle!! If one of them had to guard Tatum if we don’t do double bigs?? Haha oohh weee!!!
Smart shot better than Jrue in the playoffs, we get it, but who is intentionally leaving Jrue open like they did Smart? Is that ever going to be the strategy? Cheat off White?? Off of Brown or Tatum??? We already played Lopez off the floor before the two additions! Haha!!
HOW ARE THEY GOING TO DEFEND US?
i could go in so many directions for our offense, what are teams going to do with that versatility except hope for injuries and Joe to fumble the bag?
How are they going to defend Us!!!!
