Hoping Bam, JJJ, Jovic, Herro, and Jimmy all get some burn tomorrow.

I don’t get what the Heat see in Dru… with that being said, I also didn’t see what they saw in Gabe Vincent, and we know how that turned out.
With that said, I am ready to not see him get minutes in these preseason games and would love to see other players run the point. Not sure why they cut Bouyea, but I liked him better than Dru.

I disagree with that assessment of the reason we improved. The reason we were better was because Jimmy was better. Jimmy playing like a top 5 player makes everything easier for the rest of the team. If Herro was there we would be slightly worse defensively but we would have been better offensively.

Is it just me or has preseason been pretty underwhelming overall? I mean, it's like the talking heads are struggling to get excited about anything .. and they have to hype up Wemby for a couple of dunks against Miami's C/D team. Hoping this doesn't continue onto the season!

100% agree. I would add the 3 point shooting as a reason as well. We couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean during the season and in the playoffs even Jimmy became a sharpshooter. Without the shooting, we don’t make it out of the east. Herro would have helped.

The shooting improvement I believe was due to Jimmy also when he's that aggressive he's drawing multiple defenders and he's our best playmaker. Guys get easier looks and Jimmy's energy is contageous and makes everyone more confident

I have actually felt the opposite, felt like I've watch more competitive games then I can remember in preseason.

Actually, statistically, Herro is a better defender than Strus.

With two players waived yesterday (Williams and Peterson), that opens up the need to play our main guys a bit more in todays game. Hopefully we see more of the main attraction today on the court.

Yea could be wrong but I don't remember seeing so many stars/high draft picks etc suit this early in pre-season. Usually they wait til the last 2 games. I mean I've seen LeBron, Zion, Kawhi, AD and many other dudes play that are known to be either very injury prone or getting up there in age. Most of the top guns are only playing 20-ish minutes but still it's appreciated, been craving professional NBA ball.dean456 wrote:insfo wrote:Is it just me or has preseason been pretty underwhelming overall? Waiting to see what our starting lineup is gonna be for tonight's game. I have a feeling we have another hybrid lineup with our starters getting little play time or a non-starting lineup opening again. Id guess we won't see the lineups far tighter until the last 2 games.

Can’t watch this game on League Pass here because of the Dan blackout rules and Bally Sports having the rights for the Grizzlies

Don’t tease me Bish.
But for real, do it. If we’re gonna have a PG that can’t shoot, give me one with size and better defense and playmaking skills.

Herro as much as I don’t really care for him, is clearly better player than both of them. Scoot is too soon to judge but so far, haven’t seen anything special there either. Just cause Portland has a bunch of guards doesn’t mean those guys were better than Herro. Quality over quantity.
Ayton is another overpaid bum. I think Portland is screwed for years to come. Unless Scoot becomes an all star quick I don’t see them doing anything for the foreseeable future.
Simons and Herro are equivalent.
Don’t want or need Herro. Still.
This guy def a closet Heat fan or has a sick obsession with us hahaha

I don't know how much pre-season some of yall are watching but our boy Thomas Bryant looking hella better than Christian Wood. I Think now I see exactly what our FO was thinking, letting that one go, I think they made the right choice to date. I'll let the season play out and see how both do in their roles, something tells me were gonna be surprised.
Christian Wood last night vs the Bucks - 23 Minutes of play (1-6fg)(4rb)(2ast)(1stl)(2to)(-6)(3pts)
Thomas Bryant last night vs the Grizzlies - 17 Minutes of play (4-6fg)(FT 5-5)(4rb)(+4)(13pts)
Miami needed a guy who can in limited minutes with the bench mob put up points, get to the line, and have some semblance of skill. Those Bamless minutes are crucial, perhaps Wood just isn't the guy to produce in limited minutes.

Bryant fits the Heat system better than Woods. He is a better screener, pick n roll/pop player. I know why many here wants Woods become they see him as more of a pure scorer and more athletic, thinking that he would average 18 pts a game as a go too player. Not understanding that is definitely not how he would be utilized here. Bryant can make plays off the ball and not have plays called for him, he is a better fit system wise. Many don't understand how important setting screens are for this team. Its like the difference between Ariza and Tucker.IceColdCubano wrote:I don't know how much pre-season some of yall are watching but our boy Thomas Bryant looking hella better than Christian Wood.
