I forgot about the Terry Porter years until opening this thread back up. Thanks, jerks.

And Adam Silver still has to read them all one by one.

The broad NBA commentariat is trying so hard to make the Ben Simmons redemption arc work, but he still looks kinda shithouse to me.

Let's see how it all ends this year.

He's a sneaky MVP candidate if he can stay fit and motivated.

Wait OKC bought two seconds for $1M + a middling prospect they would have likely cut + the corpse of Dipo? All because Houston didn’t want to do their own dirty work?

On the decision to not pay Bones Hyland (where he takes a shot at MPJ)
“I knew you couldn’t have two guys that couldn’t guard, and we couldn’t have two guys that were young and kind of more ‘me guys,’” Booth said. “Mike makes $30 million. He’s one of the best shooters in the NBA. So, Bones, there’s no place for you.”

On losing Bruce Brown to the Pacers:
“Some of these teams were trying to get Bruce, trying to make it worth it; it’s like, just be careful what you wish for,” Booth said about the rivals that pursued Brown. “Peyton’s bigger. He’s longer. He’s more athletic. He guards better. He passes better. He doesn’t have the experience, and he’s not as good offensively yet, but we need defense more than we need offense on our team.”

Seriously why would you say this on record publicly?

This is where your GM giving nothing but boring, bland GM speak responses is actually nice lol.

This very much sounds like he forgot to say off the record before he said these things, unless it was at a press conference in which case I have no explanation. The Bones comment was unnecessarily dickish. But Braun was already a guy that was going to have a lot of pressure on him and he only ratcheted it up by saying that he's a better defender than a guy that just spent a lot of time defending the other team's best player in the NBA Finals

Seemed obvious to me, but as a raging narcissist I feel obligated to say that I called this one

Listening to the Bill Simmons over/under pods. Just want everyone to know that all players the Celtics traded are on the decline and all players the Celtics acquired are going to be great.

To the surprise of noone.
I loved listening to some(not all) Boston media about the Dame trade and them rightly talking about Jrue's playoff numbers and fumbles and how great the trade is and then some days later, the same exact people talking about what a steal Jrue is for the Celtics and bringing up just his rs numbers and discussing how great having a true guard, who will not make any mistakes in the clutch handling the ball, is...

Seems like a "Lightyears ahead" type interview for a guy whose three biggest moves appear to be trading for Aaron Gordon, signing Jackson and trading for KCP. He was gifted with an MVP, an all-NBA caliber guy, and a high-level project. Don't get cocky after 1 good run.

He didn't even make the Gordon trade.

Tim Connelly was POBO there until he got hired by the Wolves in 2022. Booth was just GM in title only.
