That would be ideal. We'll see come the RS, but certainly he is doing everything we need him to here in the preseason.

I don't really care to draw a comparison for Barnes to a prior player; I think he can be unique in his own way.

He's a 6'8 bully in the post with incredible touch that has elite vision and an emerging jumper.

He is going to be a match up problem for other teams which is the important part.

A small thing during the 4th of the Bulls game, but on D as the C Scottie did the Duncan fake step on the Coby White drive. He came out to contest the drive with one step but took it back to cover Drummond on the baseline. It short circuited White who was ready to dump it off but then had to shift to a layup and ended up travelling.

Often ends up better than a contest. Just one of the things about his savviness that makes him a better paint help defender instead of trying to use him more on ball.

He is too large of a human to be consistently on ball. His hips are too high so fighting through screens is basically impossible for his build. He can switch in a moments notice on anyone which is his greatest defensive asset along with his IQ. But I agree having him pick people up or be a point of attack defender is definitely not setting him up for success. Plus why wear him out chasing guards around? We need Scottie and Pascal to carry a MASSIVE load on offense.

Got Nuffin wrote:Scottie reminds me of the older Magic when he became more of a facilitating power forward, but who could still run the point when required and run an exciting fast break when he gets in transition.

Obviously Scottie has a bit of Giannis-like speed and athleticism on that version of Magic, but I think that might be the best comparison for him.

His handles will be the swing skill. At this point in his career he's closer to a Sabonis/Draymond than to Magic.

Well we always knew Scottie turned it up in the 4th, but even NBA Uni knows Scottie has looked different under Coach Darko & departure of Fred. I'd love a retool personally, but I don't love any of the offers for Pascal. I'm not as enamored with the supposed Atlanta offer as many others seem to be. But that's another topic.

Personally, I will be upset if we aren’t going with Dennis, Gary, OG, Pascal, Scottie lineup closing most games.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

You trying to watch hack-a-poeltl? At best we hope for offense/defense substitutions

I was just thinking he's like a Dwight Howard/Grant Hill hybrid (hopefully).

Do the hips lie in basketball?
