6 for 6 was very Timelord like..

I hope he wins the 3rd center spot

I've got to agree though right now I would trust Kornet in defensive rotations far more. Queta definitely has some upside though with size, athleticism and instinct. I'd be hanging on to him and coaching him hard.

Luke, Queta, Gabriel for backup C.

Banton??

Whoops, forgot about him. He's probably higher up there than Svi. Him and Oshae have gotten a lot of minutes.

Seems that way. But idk, the game 2 days ago even though Brissett played and Lamar was a DNP, Brissett wasn't very good. And tonight, Lamar was much better than Brissett on both ends of the floor. Although tbf, Brissett's mins were earlier in the game so was facing the hornets actual rotation guys.

But overall during preseason, I think Stevens has been a little bit better than Brissett.

It'll probably be an ongoing thing during the season so see who gets the minutes there..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Wonder if Richards can be a potential target for us with the Grant TPE. They're going to give the bulk of the minutes to their 2nd year man in Williams, maybe they would be open to moving Richards at the deadline

I’ve said that the one of them that starts making corner 3s first will win the role — right now it feels like Stevens is showing more pop, but what they see in practices is probably informing their evaluations more than a few stretches of preseason minutes.

I wouldn't be shocked. He can still get into 45 games this year on the 2-way. Like it or not, Luke has earned Joe's trust. I think if it's not enough during the regular season, we make a move at the deadline for another big.

Queta playing over Kornet tonight is telling. Kornet has been a liability all preseason and the coaching staff has to know it

It's possible but what they see in practice has weight too and we don't know what else they're seeing from Luke behind closed doors that they may or may not like. Luke can be cut before 1/24 and it's possible that he might. I'll just say that I won't be surprised either way.

Got a nice little elbow jumper as well. Outside of 15ft I don't trust him but he can hit those.

That one possession with PP, Svi, Hauser, Queta, and I can't remember who the fifth guy was, where the ball was whipping around really quickly was a thing of beauty. My favorite kind of basketball.

It was Brissett. Only one who didn't touch the ball.

Barely any dribbling, 7-pass possession for a wide open three.

On Kornet i have to admit it feels like the team surpassed him. Luke was big for us in the first half last year but watching him now it looks like he's a few steps slower than everyone else

Great stuff. An underrated aspect of Svi's game is how quickly he gets rid of the ball. It's going to be so interesting to see which of those end of roster guys stick. For me, it's Stevens over Brissett, and I think I like Svi better than Brissett, too.

There’s just no hurry. We all have our favorites and yeah we can infer stuff from preseason but we don’t need to cut anyone at all. They’re 0 downside just carrying them all and giving it 10-20 games. We’ve all been so quick to think who we should cut or not play ? And none of us can actuary know yet so just sit back and we can check back end of November

More notes, though less than last time.

Loving the forcing of turnovers, we were very solid last year defensively but now we're aggressive and its so refreshing. So much nail help from long armed monsters. Jrue and white the poke masters, pritchard even helping out. Tatum with the deflections. Beautiful.

White shot blocking is my happy place. Speaking of white, fun and good to see him staying aggressive. Had small concerns about about him maybe deferring too much considering the talent but he's shooting with confidence, driving hard, calling his own number. Love it, it's needed.

Jrue fills in all the gaps, has a great great motor.

Today we saw the inside/different side of KP's game. When horford didn't have the 3 going, he didnt have much but KP so versatile. Missed him a few times on the block and he's still having to decide when to pass and rescreen or when to go for a drive but its already so good and there's still quite a lot of upside.

Very Jekyll and Hyde game for Pritchard, early a lot of chucking and missing but then he also had 3-5 best pnr possessions of his life. Actually good and meaningful passes.

Ok so the Queta conversation, he was very good. Very good offensive center, has excellent positioning in the PNR on offense, makes himself available and finishing extremely competently. Very mobile for the sheer bulk. BUT defensively, very much a mixed bag. When he's in drop he plays it very very 1 dimensionally, aka very deep and doesn't really come out for the contest on the guard. It works great when you play the guard for the pass cause you can seal the big and prevent the lob/dumpoff or offensive rebound BUT he needs to figure out when to step out, or drop back less. Early 2nd quarter they scored way too much vs queta like that and he did not adjust. He's not always gonna play with jrue and white so need to adjust coverage there. BUT he has the ability do that, just needs to be coached up. That's currently the difference with Kornett though, he's just better at the cat and mouse game of pnr defense and contesting the small. Not hating on Nemias but that's what he needs to get past Luke.

Wenyen, my binkie, with a coast to coast euro and gather drive. IDC what anyone says, Gabriel is good. Consider him my green goggled love.

Svi gets UP on his shots.

Stevens and Brisset im not gonna really talk about, they'll play in the regular season. I have no doubt so we'll see then.

Jays are good, who knew.

Wals trying to dunk everything is fun and good.

Oh and banton is good. He just needs offensively development of the shot and consistent motor and he's a rotation caliber guy. Big iffs though

As an aside, the Hornets broadcast team is one of the best in the league imo. I don't know how they can sustain their enthusiasm through years and years of having a garbage team. Genuine excitement and awe over the opposing teams/players too when they make great plays.

I especially give credit to Dell for showing interest every night with some of the clownage the hornets put out on the floor, having watched the greatest shooter and all time great grow up right in his own driveway. And his brother Steph as well.

Also Collins/Curry seem to be the least homerish of any duo across the league.

Super random fact: The Celtics had 70 paint points in the win vs. Charlotte. In Jayson Tatum's whole time in Boston, they have recorded 70+ points in the paint just once in their previous 596 games (preseason, RS, P-offs, play-in).

lol dad joke.

The hornets play by play guy is nuts, but he's entertaining, that's for sure.

Yeah the setup was for sure awkward.

They have good rapport too. Like it sounds like they're genuinely buddies.

Definitely one of the better home TV broadcast teams in the league.

Collins does a great job of making the game still entertaining and staying positive (without being over the top about it), even when his team is bad, they were bad last season, they were losing by like 40 last night.
