It's honestly perfectly feasible for him this season and that's nuts. If he clinches both he'll shoot up into top 20 player discussion, I think.

Darko is smart enough to get Barnes 3 point shots from the corner instead of mostly above the break.

Its amazing that if you seemingly stick with a guy that they might not suck. Gotta say with Flynn, I'll beleive it when I see it. But it looks like he's going to get a fair shake at it.

But Achiuwa, Achiuwa looks pretty good, and like he has a even a smidgeon of confindence again.

Good game. Good way to end the pre-season.

i was encouraged to see the 3 point shooting today. if porter stays healthy, with trent, gradey, and maybe mcdaniel that is a lot of 3 point shooting off the bench.
if barnes can improve and og can get back to his usual 3 point shooting, we should be set.

Can't get too upset with who our 3rd point guard is going to be. In the long run the position to fill is starting PG and we know it. Letting Dowtin go is fine in the grand scheme of things.

I will say it again. The biggest difference in this team will be depth and coaching. But you needed a new coach to actually have depth, when the other one wouldn't use it if he had it.

And I'll say this again too, Barnes is going to have a monster season compared to last year and what people here predicted.

I'm really kind of excited to see if the changes to how they play are as postive as they look so far.

0.001% chance USA takes scottie to the olympics next summer, let's not overdo it. Too many stars in their front court ahead of him.

Terrible take. Barnes' style of basketball is likely even more effective against international play. 0.001%? Absurd.

the 0.001% was mostly tongue in cheek but main point is that its very unlikely for next summer. If you watch any FIBA international play normally ball-handling players without a consistent jumper usually tend to struggle. That combined with how stacked the Americans are expected to be in Paris makes his selection highly unlikely.
If he keeps developing his game then by the 2028 olympics he should be a shoo-in.

I mean, Flynn looked alright. Maybe the FO office has a reason to still be hopeful after all. Speaking of short players I got to admit, seeing Nowell wearing the mic, he's a pretty likeable guy. He needs to not force it and look to distribute the ball. Be patient as he adds man strength and learns. I'd like to see Schroder play pass first too. He made some nice quick passes. At times a little too much though.

I'm only mentioning his 3pt release and not makes, it's major improvement from his old form and slow release. And he's shooting with confidence no hesitation. Huge step in improvement with Darko, he didn't even have this shooting form yet in Rico runs

Yea hopefully Scottie sticks to catch and shoot 3's while he improves his consistency, his off the dribble shots still are all over the place.

From last game iirc, it looks like Scottie was comfortable shooting the three from dead centre as well. At least I am hopeful so.

Good luck to Dowtin. He should be able to catch on somewhere. Its a shame rosters weren't even deeper.

Pro preseason win! Nice to see Dick strokin’ like that. If it all comes together, this team could have me pleasantly surprised.

I was merely playing along with the idea of Scottie being a top 20 player by end of season

If Scottie is a top 20 player he’s definitely getting considered for the Olympics lol.

Just having a coach that doesn't make a fool of himself on the sidelines day in day out is going to be a relief. Here's hoping the refs take a liking to his disposition too.
